We’re eight weeks in to the 2024-25 women’s college basketball season and a lot has changed. Here’s On3’s updated top 25 following the eighth week of competition, which included just two days of gameplay.

1. UCLA

UCLA notched a solid home victory over Nebraska on Sunday to stay steady at No. 1 in the country. They remained undefeated with a trio of resume wins to back them. 

2. South Carolina

South Carolina dominated Wofford 93-47 at home on Sunday in their first game back from the break. With one of the best resumes in the country, they stick at No. 2. 

3. Notre Dame

Notre Dame earned an ACC victory over Virginia at home. Olivia Miles notched back-to-back triple-doubles and the 95-54 result marked their sixth consecutive win.

4. USC

USC took down a solid Syla Swords-less Michigan team at home on Sunday night. While Michigan kept it close for a while. The Trojans put together an impressive fourth quarter showing for the 20-point victory.

5. TCU

TCU cruised past Brown at home, 79-47, on Sunday afternoon. With just one loss to South Carolina, the Horned Frogs remain a Top 5 team. 

6. Maryland

Maryland took down a really talented Michigan State squad at home this Sunday. Although it was a close result, the Terrapins earned a much-needed resume victory to boost them up 5 spots in the rankings. They remain undefeated and are 2-0 in Big Ten play. 

7. LSU

LSU beat Albany 83-61 at home this Sunday. While the result is indicative of a very strong fourth quarter, the Tigers need to improve their first-half performances in SEC play. Aneesah Morrow had 20 points and 18 boards in the win. 

8. Texas

Texas beat down UTRGV 94-35 at home in their lone result of the week. Kyla Oldacre scored 21 points, grabbed seven boards and added three steals off the bench. 

9. UConn

UConn notched a blowout conference win over Providence on their homecourt, bouncing back from a loss to USC. 

10. Duke

Duke was idle this week. 

11. Oklahoma

Oklahoma took down New Mexico State at home, 82-64, this Sunday. Raegan Beers posted a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double. 

12. Kansas State

Kansas State was idle this week. 

13. Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech notched a conference victory over Pittsburgh – and it was a 100-61 blowout. Kara Dunn scored 28 and freshman Dani Carnegie continued to impress with a 24-point performance. 

14. Ohio State

Ohio State took down Big Ten opponent Rutgers, 77-63, on the road this week. Cotie McMahon and Ajae Petty each posted double-doubles to get past Destiny Adams’ massive performance for the Scarlet Knights. 

15. North Carolina

North Carolina handed Miami their second loss of the season, notching a 69-60 road victory on Sunday. Maria Gakdeng and Alyssa Ustby both posted double-doubles and the Tar Heels only turned the ball over four times. 

16. Tennessee

Tennessee routed Winthrop 114-50 at home on Sunday afternoon. Six players scored in double figures and Sara Puckett added a well-rounded showing. 

17. Michigan State

Michigan State fell 72-66 at Maryland this Sunday, but kept it close until the very end. This is the Spartans second loss of the season – both to currently ranked teams. 

18. NC State

NC State fought through adversity to notch a conference win over Clemson at home this Sunday. Four players scored in double figures and Madison Hayes scored 19 points. 

19. Kentucky

Kentucky beat in-state Western Kentucky 88-70 at home in their first game back from the break. Clara Strack and Georgia Amoore each added 21 points in the victory. 

20. Cal

Cal was idle this week. 

21. Alabama

Alabama took down Jacksonville 93-46 at home on Sunday. Aaliyah Nye scored a 30-piece and the Crimson Tide stayed undefeated at home. 

22. Iowa

Iowa beat conference foe Purdue at home this Sunday, 84-63. It was a balanced scoring attack, with 12 players putting points on the board for the Hawkeyes. 

23. Utah

Utah was idle this week. 

24. Illinois

Illinois notched a conference win over Oregon at home on Saturday. While it was just a 5-point victory, the Illini still don’t have Makira Cook back from injury. Genesis Bryant scored 23 points and grabbed seven boards. 

25. Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt took down Alabama A&M at home and still have just one loss this season. When they start SEC play, we’ll get a real look at this team’s potential.
