On3's week 11 women's basketball Top 25
We’re 10 weeks in to the 2024-25 women’s college basketball season and a lot has changed. Here’s On3’s updated top 25 following the 10th week of competition.
1. UCLA
It was a quiet week for the UCLA Bruins, as they dominated Purdue on the road in their only contest of the week. Lauren Betts led with 17 points and 7 boards and the Bruins remain one of three undefeated teams.
2. South Carolina
South Carolina knocked off another major foe as they crushed then-No. 4 Texas at home. Dawn Staley has the Gamecocks rolling once again, with a nearly perfect record and wins over several top opponents.
3. Notre Dame
Notre Dame took down a solid Clemson team on the road despite being without NPOY favorite Hannah Hidalgo, who’s dealing with an ankle injury. Liatu King stepped up with a 23-point, 11-rebound performance.
4. USC
USC earned a major resume win over top-10 Maryland on the road. JuJu Watkins continued to dominate and the Trojans got solid contributions from their bench.
5. LSU
LSU earned its second ranked win of the season on the road against Tennessee. It was a nail biter, but the Tigers came away with the well-earned victory and remain one of three undefeated teams.
6. TCU
TCU took care of business against Kansas and Texas Tech on the road this week. Both Sedona Prince and Hailey van Lith put up big-time numbers and the Horned Frogs still have just one loss to South Carolina.
7. Texas
Texas crushed Alabama (without Sarah Ashlee Barker) but then suffered a really ugly loss at South Carolina on Sunday. Madison Booker was 3-of-19 from the field and shots weren’t falling for anyone. They have a daunting stretch coming up, with plenty of opportunities to get back on track.
8. UConn
Unfortunately, there aren’t too many high-level resume wins in Big East play for UConn going forward. They handled Xavier and Georgetown with ease this week while Paige Bueckers has been dealing with injury.
9. Maryland
Maryland suffered its first loss of the season to USC at home this Wednesday. It was only a 5-point result, though, and there are plenty of upcoming opportunities to earn a big resume win.
10. Kansas State
Kansas State cracks the top 10 this week after road victories at Utah and BYU. Temira Poindexter scored 24 in the latter and Jaelyn Glenn posted a double-double in the former.
11. Ohio State
Ohio State earned two solid wins over Michigan on the road and Oregon at home. In the Buckeyes 84-77 win over Michigan, freshman Jaloni Cambridge had 29 points, six rebounds and four assists. The Buckeyes remain undefeated.
12. UNC
North Carolina notched the rivalry win over Duke this week in overtime, bouncing back from their loss to No. 3 Notre Dame. It was a very low-scoring affair, but senior Alyssa Ustby came through with the double-double.
13. Oklahoma
Oklahoma suffered an 81-77 road loss to Mississippi State – their second falter in three games. They bounced back against Texas A&M, but have a tough stretch coming up, with games against South Carolina and LSU this month.
14. Kentucky
Kentucky added two conference victories to their resume and remained undefeated in SEC play. Georgia Amoore averaged 19.5 points and 7 assists in a pair of games against Florida and Auburn.
15. Duke
Duke didn’t have the most productive week, with a loss at rival North Carolina in overtime and a narrow victory at Virginia. They have some really solid resume wins under their belt from nonconference play, which is what’s keeping them this high for now.

16. Georgia Tech
It was a rough week for Georgia Tech, but that was in part due to star freshman Dani Carnegie suffering an injury six minutes into the Yellowjackets’ 105-94 double-overtime loss to Virginia Tech. She didn’t play in the following matchup at Louisville and Georgia Tech lost their first two games of the year.
17. Tennessee
Tennessee suffered a 2-point loss against LSU, but showed that they can keep up with some of the sport’s best with close losses to the Tigers and Sooners. They demolished Arkansas in their last game of the week, but three of their next four games are against ranked opponents.
18. Alabama
Despite being without leading scorer Sarah Ashlee Barker, Alabama beat a solid Ole Miss squad on the road. They suffered a 44-point loss at Texas earlier in the week without Barker, but that wasn’t a matchup they were expected to win – even at full strength.
19. Mississippi State
Mississippi State had a phenomenal week. They took down a then-Top 10 Oklahoma team and followed it up with a road win at Georgia. They’ve earned some solid wins this season and their losses aren’t too noteworthy.
20. Cal
Cal, like Mississippi State, had a really great week and upped their stock. They notched two significant conference wins over NC State and Florida State. Despite an outlier of a loss to Clemson, the Bears are rolling.
21. NC State
NC State suffered a road loss at Cal, but followed it up with a 14-point road win at Stanford. They have a calmer stretch coming up and will have to stay consistent until they face their next ranked opponent in February.
22. Utah
Utah lost badly to Kansas State, but that’s not a game where I expected them to keep it close. They beat Houston handily on Saturday and improved to 13-3 this season.
23. South Dakota State
South Dakota State doesn’t have much room to improve their ranking in conference play, but they won out this week and remain in the Top 25.
24. Nebraska
Nebraska makes its first appearance in the Top 25 after taking down a then-ranked Michigan State team and Rutgers, who had Kiyomi McMiller on the court for the first time in a week.
25. Creighton
Creighton rounds out the rankings this week after an undefeated start to conference play and just two losses overall to top 10 teams. They rallied late for a big win at Seton Hall this weekend.
