Sharp-shooting guard Meredith Tippner commits to Miami Hurricanes
Highly recruited 2025 guard Meredith Tippner of Noblesville (Indiana) High School has committed to the Miami Hurricanes, she told On3.
“For me, there was a combination of factors that made me realize Miami was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” Tippner told On3. “I was able to get a really good idea of what Coach [Tricia] Cullop and her staff could do when they were at Toledo. The culture she built and community involvement she helped establish were important to me because of how much I value that in my community and high school.”
Meredith Tippner, a 5-foot-9 shooting guard, chose the Hurricanes over programs including Oklahoma State, Purdue and Columbia because of the long-term connections she’s built and the opportunity to play against high-level talent every game.
“I have the opportunity to play at such a high level against the best competition,” Tippner told On3. “I’m a competitor. I always want to prove that the jersey I wear is worn with pride.”
Meredith Tippner has deep connection with Miami coaches
Miami features a new coaching staff, led by head coach Tricia Cullop who previously held the same position at Toledo. Coincidentally, Toledo had been recruiting Tippner for years and it was her first-ever offer.

“I have such a great connection with this coaching staff,” Tippner said. “I went out for a visit in June and I loved it… Once I got on campus and was able to meet everyone, it made me feel like this is a place I can spend my college years.”
Along with her connection with the coaching staff and the school itself, Meredith Tippner feels as though she’ll be a perfect fit for Miami’s style of play. As a rebounding guard who prides herself on her defensive efforts, she sees plenty of similarities in the way Cullop has previously run her team.
“I’m, more than anything, a player who does the intangibles,” Tippner said. “I’m the most competitive person you’ll meet. I’ll do anything to help my team succeed and be a winning program. I think I’m a three-level scorer and also a person on the offensive end who can score, but also facilitate. I think I’m a high IQ decision-maker who always wants the assignment of guarding the best player on the other team.”
Last season for Noblesville High School, Tippner averaged 16.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.3 steals, showcasing her versatility on the court. She was consistently a top prospect in the adidas 3SSB U17 League this season, often placing within the top 10 scorers at her level.
