Sophie Cunningham practically spoke it into existence a year ago: playing with Caitlin Clark. The new Indiana Fever shooter was traded from the Phoenix Mercury after six seasons and will team up with a rising squad.

Cunningham, known for her three-point shooting, previously raved about Clark and what the former Iowa star could bring to the WNBA. Not only did Clark draw a lot of eyes to the sport, she won Rookie of the Year and led Indiana back to the postseason.

With Clark, Aliyah Boston, Cunningham and other veterans, the Fever might be loaded in 2025. Cunningham spoke to On3, on behalf of Quest Nutrition, about the latest chapter in her career.

“I just think she’s a phenomenal player,” Cunningham told On3. “I think that not only Caitlin, but I think Stephanie White and her coaching staff is one of the most elite level coaching staffs in our league. You have Kelsey Mitchell, you have Natasha Howard, you have Dwanna Bonner. And so our team is looking really, really good right now, and we’re all just kind of excited to actually get together and get working out.

“But when you have someone like Caitlin, you know, she’s a generational, maybe a (once in a lifetime) player to kind of graze our sport. I think that we’ve had a lot, a lot of great players, but with all the new eyes and the social media presence and our games being aired on TV, I just think she and some of the other rookie class members too, they just carried our game to a whole new level. And this is something that we’ve always wanted, and so just to play alongside someone who has elite level thinking, passing, shooting, I think it’s gonna be pretty fun for a shooter like me to let her go do her thing and I’ll just be spotting up.”

Quest Nutrition is upping the excitement for college basketball fans – the brand will take over the Stumble Inn with a tournament watch party hosted by the Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham on Saturday, March 29. The party starts at 2pm at NYC’s Stumble Inn located at 1454 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10021. For those who can’t join, you can find the recipes at Questnutrition.com and enjoy your own “Questified” tournament menu at home.

Cunningham has a career three-point percentage of 36.2%, so she’ll be relied on in that aspect. Her highest point total average was 12.6, when it came in 2022 with Phoenix.

As a career 42.2% shooter, Cunningham is a nice piece to Indiana. Playing alongside Clark can certainly open up a new world of possibilities as well.

The Indiana Fever open up the regular season in less than two months. The opener is May 17th as Indiana travels to Chicago to take on the Sky.
