Stephanie White hired as new coach for Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark
The Indiana Fever have their new head coach. The organization has hired Stephanie White to lead the way for Caitlin Clark and the Fever, they announced on Friday.
White is replacing Christie Sides, who was let go early this week. Stephanie White is taking over as the head coach for the Fever after spending the past two seasons as the head coach of the Connecticut Sun.
She led the Sun to back-to-back WNBA Semifinals appearances and had a record of 55-25 during that time.
“I am incredibly proud and honored to return home to Indiana and lead the Fever during such a pivotal moment in this franchise’s history, as well as during during such an important time throughout women’s athletics,” Stephanie White said in a statement. “This franchise has and always will be committed to winning and I look forward to working every day to help deliver another WNBA title to the greatest basketball fans in the world.”
White is an Indiana native and Purdue grad. She was also the head coach of the Indiana Fever in 2015 and 2016.
She is joining an organization that had a 20-20 record this past season before falling in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs.

The Fever’s trip to the WNBA Playoffs this season was their first since 2016. WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark was excellent this past season, averaging 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.
In the 2023-24 season, Clark compiled the most points (769), assists and 3-point field goals made ever by a rookie in WNBA history. Further, Clark’s 337 assists were the most ever in a single season by any WNBA player.
The Indiana Fever also have a former WNBA Rookie of the Year on their roster in Aliyah Boston. The former South Carolina star averaged 14 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in 2024.
Expectations are sure to be high for the Indiana Fever in 2025 with Clark moving into Year 2 and Boston into Year 3.
