Top 2025 shooting guard recruit Adelaide Jernigan has committed to the NC State Wolfpack, she told On3. The North Carolina native chose the Wolfpack over Michigan and Kentucky

“I just felt at home,” Jernigan told On3. “I had always preached that I wanted a family atmosphere and they had the best atmosphere for that. With the team, they all just really were so close to each other, and the coaching staff all made me feel so welcome. When they came to my home visit, we just had wonderful conversations. It was different. The family atmosphere really was strong and I think, obviously, playing in front of my family and friends is another thing that is just such a perk.”

NC State has been recruiting Jernigan since her 8th grade season, so the relationships grew significantly over the years.

“I think it speaks to their loyalty,” Jernigan said. “I’m really close with Coach Ashley [Williams], the guard coach, and then Wes [Moore] obviously and Brittany [Morris] and Nikki [West]. I could talk to any of them at any time of the day, and I talk with them all the time during the week. It just felt so natural and the relationship just strengthened. It just felt wonderful.”

As a shooter and defensive threat, Jernigan sees herself fitting into NC State’s play style very well and is excited for the opportunity to play for a winning program.

“We’ve had many conversations about it,” Jernigan said. “Obviously, I’m a big shooter, so I think that playing off of that will be big. They have two really good point guards, and I think that the ability for them to drive and kick it and for me to shoot and spread the floor. That’s what they’ll be wanting me to do. I have a long wingspan, so being able to play defense well and getting tips and steals – just helping the program in any way I can. I think that’s what I bring differently, so it’ll be very exciting. I’m happy about it, and that’s what we’ve been talking about for a long time.”
