Top 2025 Massachusetts recruit Kaelyn Carroll has committed to Kentucky, she told On3. Carroll chose the Wildcats over programs including South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida State and Virginia Tech

The 6-foot-2 wing from Marion (Massachusetts) Tabor Academy built a strong relationship with head coach Kenny Brooks and knew the Wildcats were the right fit for her.

“It definitely was a little bit of a difficult decision with so many great opportunities and building great relationships with all the coaches, but I just think that Kentucky was, overall, the right fit for me,” Carroll told On3. “My relationship with Kenny [Brooks] was just really, really strong, and I just see a great future at Kentucky.”

Kaelyn Carroll feels strong connection with coaches

She originally built a relationship with Brooks when he was at Virginia Tech, and their relationship has only grown since his move to Kentucky.

“I definitely built that relationship with them at Virginia Tech first, so I knew them there, and then once I got on campus with Kentucky, I could just see a whole new spark,” Carroll told On3. “Kenny has a great vision for the future and in building up Kentucky women’s basketball. I just think that it would be really cool to be a part of that.”

Carroll sees her versatility making a big impact when she arrives on campus.

“I think with the conversations I’ve had with coach, a big thing for me is my versatility,” Carroll told On3. “Using that on the court at the next level is important to me and him and we talked about stretching the floor with me, but also using my size inside, which was something I really look forward to doing in college.”

She’s still a year away from playing with the Wildcats, but she’s anxious to help build the new era of Kentucky women’s basketball.

“I think I’m just most excited to really just build up this program,” Carroll told On3. “I think going into it with this team, I have a good relationship with the girls too, and I think everyone’s super excited to put Kentucky on the map. I’m just excited to work with them.”
