Top 2025 recruit Lourdes Da Silva Costa commits to Alabama
Top 2025 recruit Lourdes Da Silva Costa has committed to Alabama, she told On3. She chose the Crimson Tide over Miami, North Carolina and Florida State.
“I just really felt like the people there are just in the community,” Da Silva Costa told On3. “It’s just amazing, and they’re just really there to support you. That’s how I felt. The coaching staff cares about you as a basketball player, but also everything else about you and that really just stood out to me. Their development that they had there in the program was also an important thing to me.”
Da Silva Costa, a 6-foot-2 forward out of Montverde Academy in Florida likes Alabama’s play style and sees herself fitting in well as a player.
“I believe my versatility can be a lot of help — and just my drive,” Da Silva Costa said. “I think they play with a really good pace and I think that looking at some of their players that they have now that are kind of similar to me will be like a good way for me to also kind of follow.”

Da Silva Costa is excited to get on campus and play for Alabama next season.
“I’m just excited to go to college,” Da Silva Costa told On3. “I actually cannot wait. Being at Montverde Academy, it’s already preparing you. You’re already far away from home and everything, so it’s kind of already prepared me for all of that. But just being more independent and having a different type of schedule in a new environment with new people and just trying to get better every day. That’s what really excites me.”
Alabama is getting a versatile post player in Da Silva Costa.
“I think I’m pretty versatile,” Da Silva Costa said. “I play hard and I’m good at running the floor. I’m hard on myself, so I really would say that I want to work on improving everything… being more consistent with my shot.”
