Top 2025 recruit Madie Parrish commits to West Virginia
Madie Parrish, a top 2025 guard prospect from Mason (Ohio) William Mason, has committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers, she told On3.
Parrish chose West Virginia over Kentucky, Michigan, Penn State, Wake Forest and Purdue.
“They came really early in my recruiting process,” Parrish told On3. “They hopped on the train quick, so it’s just been them always believing in me, and then obviously building those connections with the coaching staff — Coach Mark [Kellogg] and Coach Erin [Grant], specifically. I’ve been talking to them the most, and the others on the staff are great. With the team. I really felt a connection on my unofficial visit and my official, so it was just great being able to be comfortable with them. They watched me grow, so I just felt more comfortable seeing how the future would look with them.”
Her relationships with the staff were crucial in her decision.
“Coach Mark – I view him as a another version of my dad,” Parrish said. “Everyone felt like an extended family, and that really just felt good and trusting that I would be spending college with them too. So I definitely felt that type of click with them and it’s just been very honest and real and straightforward. That’s what I was looking for during the process, so I could make sure I knew everything about the program.”
The way the Mountaineers play also echoes the style she’s been playing in AAU.
“I just really like their pace,” Parrish said. “I feel like they mock my team that I was with these past couple years – Legends U. I feel like I was already almost prepared to play in that type of style and system, so that helped a lot. I just felt like I could get get better with them, and they could get the best out of me.”

West Virginia is getting a talented, versatile facilitator in Parrish.
“I feel like I’m a facilitator,” Maddie Parrish said. “I can definitely get to the rim or get a bucket if it’s needed. And I feel like I have a pretty good IQ too to make the right basketball plays, and that’s something I sort of take pride in – knowing when to either pass it or take it in for myself.”
Although it’s still a year away, Parrish is looking forward to getting on the court and playing with the Mountaineers.
“I’m honestly just so excited to spend time with the team and just have more sisters added to my family, because that’s what I see them as,” Parrish said. “I’m just excited to get on the court with them, get better and hopefully win.”
