Caitlin Clark brought in record attendance numbers during her days with the Iowa Hawkeyes and it’s continued in the WNBA, bringing in unparalleled money and attention to the sport. Fans were hyped up about her matchup with Cameron Brink of the LA Sparks on Friday night. The attendance numbers didn’t disappoint.

A record 19,103 fans were in attendance for last night’s Sparks-Fever game at Crypto Arena in Los Angeles. That’s the largest home record in franchise history, according to Arash Markazi.

Speaking of record numbers, the Clark and the Fever continue to break viewership/ratings records every time they set foot on the floor. Her recent matchup with the New York Liberty drew in an impressive audience.

That matchup – a 91-80 Liberty victory – averaged 1.71 million viewers to become the second-most watched game in the WNBA since 2002, according to Sports Media Watch. It trailed only Clark’s WNBA debut against the Connecticut Sun, which drew more than 2 million viewers, for the top spot.

In Clark’s first six games with the Indiana Fever, she’s averaged 16.7 points per game, while shooting 30.8% from beyond-the-arc. She’s also been hitting 88% of her free throw attempts. The former Iowa star has also dished out 6.2 assists per outing, while stuffing the stat sheet with one block, 1.2 steals, and 5.5 rebounds.

In Brink’s four games with the Sparks, she’s averaging 8.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 3.3 blocks per game. She’s also shooting 37.5% from deep, while hitting 85.7% of her free throws. Brink has only attempted eight threes, so that percentage is on low volume. Brink played one of her best game’s yet against the Fever, stuffing the stat sheet with 15 points and nine rebounds.

During her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Caitlin Clark won nearly every award imaginable, establishing herself as one of the greatest players in women’s college basketball history. She helped guide the Hawkeyes to back-to-back appearances in the Final Four, where they lost both times in the national championship game. Clark won back-to-back Naismith Player of the Year honors in 2023 and 2024, and she was also named a three-time unanimous first team All-American.

Cameron Brink much like Clark, was one of the more dominant forces in women’s college basketball history. She helped guide the Stanford Cardinal to a national crown in 2021. And she also brought home Naismith Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024. Known as a dominant shot blocker, she averaged 3.1 blocks per game for her college career, winning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors three times (2022-2024) in her prolific career.
