4-star UCF WR commit Waden Charles transfers to Somerset Canyons
Boynton Beach (Fla.) wide receiver Waden Charles — the top prospect and one of four Power 4 commits for Palm Beach Central High School — is transferring back to Somerset Canyons, per a report.
Charles spent 2021 and 2022 with Somerset before transferring to Palm Beach Central. Now, he’s back with the Cougars.
Last season, Charles reeled in 30 passes for 478 yards and seven touchdowns. In his last season at Somerset Canyons, Charles finished with 1,067 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
Charles, a onetime Miami commit, decommitted from the Hurricanes on May 30 before pledging to UCF on July 3.

Gus Malzahn and the UCF staff got Charles on campus for an official visit on June 14.
“I like that school a lot, cause they have a great coaching staff, a lot of young players that come in and make an instant impact,” Charles told On3’s Phillip Dukes in May. “The stuff that they’ve done in the receiving room last year, the receivers they have in the draft, so I feel like if I ever go there I’ll be able to do the same thing, even better.”
“Tony, he talks to me every day about coming to UCF. He just tries to show me the same vision that he sees, and I’m starting to see it, definitely. Tony, he’s definitely on me hard about coming to play for UCF,” he said.
