Alabama High School Football Games of the Week: September 5-7
Week two of Alabama high school football saw a significant shakeup in the top 25 rankings. An impressive slate for week three could see that happen once again.
Top-10 teams Enterprise, Auburn, Hewitt-Trussville and Hillcrest will all play in ranked matchups this week.
Below are the Alabama high school football games of the week.

#12 Opelika at #2 Auburn — Friday, Sept. 6
Opelika is 2-0 on the season after a 48-13 win over Callaway (Ga.) — the Bulldogs have given up just 27 points in two games with a stout defense led by Auburn top-100 defensive line commit Malik Autry. Auburn is also undefeated on the year after smashing a ranked Vestavia Hills team 52-17 a week ago. Tigers senior quarterback Jackson Kilgore was 21-of-28 passing for 255 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Auburn narrowly came away with a road 31-30 victory last year at Opelika.
#7 Enterprise at #11 Dothan — Friday, Sept. 6
Enterprise’s senior class is loaded with Power 4 talent — top-75 defensive back Eric Winters is committed to Auburn, four-star EDGE Zion Grady is pledged to Ohio State and cornerback Andrew Purcell is committed to Kentucky. They made easy work of Andalusia in Week 1 with a 35-7 win and handled Pike Road 24-6 over the weekend. Dothan beat Monroe (Ga.) 49-21 last week to move to 2-0 on the season behind three rushing touchdowns from AJ Alexander. Dothan beat Enterprise in a close one last season 21-14.

#6 Hewitt-Trussville at #22 Vestavia Hills — Friday, Sept. 6
Hewitt-Trussville beat Gadsden City 42-14 to improve to 2-0 on the season. Senior quarterback Noah Dobbins was nearly perfect throwing the ball, finishing 9-of-10 passing for 134 yards and three touchdowns. Vestavia Hills fell to Auburn in a splattering, 52-17. Hewitt-Trussville beat Vestavia Hills 55-17 last season.
#16 Hoover at #10 Hillcrest — Friday, Sept. 6
Hoover fell in a heartbreaker 39-37 to Spain Park last week. Close games have defined the Buccaneers’ season thus far, as they beat Western (Fla.) 17-14 in week one. Junior quarterback Noah Schuback leads the offense with classmate and three-star wide receiver Jonah Winston out wide. Hillcrest has scored at least 30 points in each of its two first games, first beating Florence 32-20 and then Sparkman 31-10.
#15 Daphne at #25 Mary G Montgomery — Friday, Sept. 6
Daphne’s defense has given up just 16 and 7 points in its first two games of the season, and that defense is led by Ole Miss defensive line commit Talib Graham. Mary G Montgomery is 1-1 on the year after losing to Pace (Fla.) in week one but bouncing back last week against Gulf Shores with a 21-17 win. Daphne lost to Mary G Montgomery 34-7 a year ago.
