Alabama high school football player Cameron Pritchett turned down a $750,000 name, image, and likeness deal. Pritchett’s trainer, Isaac Hadac, confirmed the news which was first reported by 5 Star Football Recruiting on X/Twitter.

Accepting the offer would require the sophomore edge rusher from Thompson High School to transfer out of state because Alabama doesn’t allow NIL deals for high school athletes. Meanwhile, Pritchett isn’t the first Warriors player to turn down an NIL offer. Last year, Thompson quarterback Trent Seaborn did not accept a seven-figure offer from a trading card company.

As Pritchett said to 5 Star Football Recruiting, “First of all, I am so blessed and grateful to even be considered in that way. It’s really an honor and privilege that I do not take lightly or for granted. Having said that, I truly believe that God has a plan for my career and for my life as long as I allow Him to guide my path. It’s important to build my legacy on integrity, hard work, passion, and faith. I want to do that at Thompson.”

Pritchett and Seaborn helped the Warriors win last season’s Alabama high school football Class 7A state championship against Central. This victory extends Thompson’s dominance over the opponents by clinching five of the last six state titles. Likewise, their 11-3 record made them the state’s top-ranked football team based on the On3 Composite Team Rankings.

Individually, Cameron Pritchett is the seventh-best prospect from Alabama’s Class of 2027. He’s also the 16th best edge rusher in his class after finishing with 78 tackles and 6.5 sacks last season. These numbers translated to offers for the 6-foot-3 defended from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and Florida, among others.

With Pritchett, edge rusher Peter Ramil, and safety Trenton McCorvey, Thompson has a solid defensive core for the upcoming Alabama high school football season. Meanwhile, Seaborn will work with talented wideouts Pryce Lewis, Darion Moseley, and Dedrick Kimbrough on offense.
