Elba (Ala.) running back Alvin Henderson has already established himself as an Alabama high school football legend.

The four-star Auburn commit has his name next to multiple state records and is amidst what could go down as an all-time senior season. He erupted for another impressive performance this week.

In a 57-53 win over Brantley (Ala.), Henderson collected 319 yards and five touchdowns on 25 carries. While some would call that measly, given the standard he’s continued to set for himself, it was another excellent outing for the 5-foot-9, 195-pounder.

Now through five games as a senior, Henderson has rushed for a whopping 1,616 yards and 29 TDs on 123 carries. He continues to average over 13 yards per carry.

Earlier this season, Henderson collected headlines thanks to a 435-yard, 10-TD outing that saw Elba still somehow lose despite scoring 78 points. That game saw Henderson set the AHSAA record for single-game touchdowns and the record for single-game points with 66. He followed up that game by rushing for 354 yards and seven TDs in his next outing, too.

Incredibly, there’s still plenty of work to be done for Henderson if he wishes to eclipse his junior campaign that witnessed an Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) record 3,523 yards and 61 touchdowns.

“Alvin Henderson is the most productive of the top running back prospects in this cycle coming out of his junior season. He plays at a lower level in Alabama, but he is utterly dominant against that competition, as you would expect from a blue-chip prospect,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said this spring.

“Overall, he’s a well-rounded and reliable running back. He’s going to be a guy who you can count on to maximize his blocking and pick up consistent yards. He’s a highly productive running back prospect.”

Henderson flipped his commitment to the in-state Tigers from Penn State on June 21. He is the No. 152 overall prospect, No. 9 RB and No. 12 player in Alabama in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“Auburn is a great school and they are going in the right direction. Coach Derrick Nix is a cool coach, we are building a relationship and Coach Freeze is doing a lot of good things,” Henderson told On3. “Auburn has great fans, the atmosphere is wild and I love a lot of things about Auburn. They recruited me hard and they have put a lot of time and effort into me. The Auburn coaches have shown a lot of love.”

Elba (3-2) will be back in action this Friday, Sept. 27. The Tigers are set to host Goshen (Ala.).
