Arizona High School Football Rankings: Top 25 teams - Oct. 20
Week No. 7 of the 2024 Arizona high school football season is in the books and the On3 Massey Ratings top 25 has once again shifted.
Red Mountain makes a big jump up to No. 3 following a win over American Leadership Academy. Queen Creek now checks in at No. 10 thanks to a ranked victory against Centennial.
Below are the updated top programs in the state of Arizona, as of Oct. 20.
The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

1. Liberty
Previous: No. 1
Liberty improved to 6-1 on the season with a 34-24 road win over No. 12 Salpointe Catholic. The Lions now have five ranked victories this year and continue to hold serve as the top-ranked team in the state. They’ll return to action this Friday at No. 25 Saguaro and are predicted to win by 28, per the Massey Ratings.
2. Basha
Previous: No. 2
Basha was idle over the weekend and now enters the home stretch of its season with a 6-1 record. The Bears have a pair of top-five wins in-state this season and will look for another big victory this coming week against No. 7 Chandler. The Massey Ratings predict a 35-28 win for Basha.
3. Red Mountain
Previous: No. 6 (+3)
Red Mountain’s impressive season continued over the weekend as it fought past Queen Creek American Leadership Academy for a 16-14 win. The 7-0 Mountain Lions have a top-10 offense and defense in the state, per the Massey Ratings. The tough tests continue as they now get back on the road and will take on No. 10 Queen Creek this Friday.
4. Brophy Prep
Previous: No. 4
After dropping a close game to Basha the week prior, Brophy got back to its winning ways over the weekend with a 41-point road victory over Desert Vista. The Broncos are now 6-1 and are favored to win each of their final three regular season games, beginning with a home matchup against Tempe Corona Del Sol on Friday.
5. Hamilton
Previous: No. 5
Hamilton continues to round out the top five and is now 6-1 on the season following a 42-20 win over No. 18 Perry. The Huskies’ lone blemish is a loss to No. 2 Basha thus far and will now finish their regular season with three ranked foes. No. 19 Casteel heads to town this Friday.
6. Highland
Previous: No. 7 (+1)
Highland rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 29-25 win over No. 20 Williams Field last week and is now 6-1 this season. The Hawks now have the No. 6 defense in the state, per the Massey Ratings. They now head to Queen Creek this week to take on top-10 American Leadership Academy.
7. Chandler
Previous: No. 8 (+1)
Chandler went on the road and picked up a 42-21 win over No. 19 Casteel last week and are now 5-2 heading into a tough finish to the regular season. The Wolves host No. 2 Basha this week before taking on No. 18 Perry and No. 5 Hamilton in November leading into postseason play.

8. Queen Creek American Leadership Academy
Previous: No. 4 (-5)
The Patriots were unable to get their offense going last week and suffered their first loss of the season in a 16-14 slog against Red Mountain. Down to No. 8 in the state this week, American Leadership Academy is now 6-1 and will now host No. 6 Highland on Friday. The Massey Ratings predict a 24-20 win for the No. 8 Patriots.
9. Mountain View
Previous: No. 9
Mountain View continues to light up the scoreboard and has now eclipsed 50 points for a fourth game in a row following a 63-30 win over Mesa. The 6-1 Toros now have the No. 5 offense in the state, per the Massey Ratings. They head to Tolleson Union this Friday, though a regular-season finale against No. 3 Red Mountain looms large.
10. Queen Creek
Previous: No. 15 (+5)
Queen Creek has now won four games in a row thanks to a 10-point win over Centennial over the weekend. The Bulldogs jumped in the top 10 in-state as a result and are now 6-1 this season. Their defense ranks No. 11, per the Massey Ratings. No. 3 Red Mountain heads to town this week in what could be a season-defining game for both programs.
