The Arkansas On3 Massey Ratings top 25 list as of Oct. 23 features the same teams from last week’s list. However, some have switched spots after another round of games this month. Despite those changes, the top three teams have remained the crème of the crop in Arkansas high school football. Here’s the latest ranking of the best teams from ‘The Natural State.’

The On3 Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory. According to the model, three teams from Arkansas rank in the top 100 nationwide.

1. Bryant

The Hornets are Arkansas’ best team after their impressive shutout road victory against Little Rock Southwest. It’s the second time they’ve kept their opponent off the scoreboard in three games. In addition to winning their seventh consecutive game, Bryant is the state’s top defensive and second-best offensive team. The 15th-best team in the nation can earn victory number eight when they defeat Cabot at home on Oct. 25.

2. Greenwood

The Bulldogs made light work of Lake Hamilton to secure their seventh victory in as many games. Kane Archer paced Greenwood with 249 passing yards and four touchdowns, while Wesley Raggio had 51 rushing yards and three TDs. Greenwood’s defense also deserves credit after contributing 70 tackles, five tackles for losses, and eight quarterback hurries. The 35th-best team in the country will compete against Van Buren on the 25th to earn an 8-0 record in the 2024 Arkansas high school football season.

3. Conway

The Wampus Cats cruised to a 7-0 record after a 57-7 victory against Central. That scoreline marks the fourth time in the last five matches in which Conway limited their opponent to single digits. Likewise, they haven’t had a close game this season, with their smallest victory margin at 21 points. However, Conway’s tough challenge awaits as they visit the fifth-ranked Pulaski Academy on the 25th.

4. Parkview Magnet

The Patriots have made their loss to top-ranked Bryant a distant memory by securing four consecutive victories. Throughout that stretch, Parkview Magnet has outscored their opponents 247-28, which includes their 57-7 domination of the Arkansas Razorbacks high school football team. Meanwhile, their +219 point differential makes them the state’s third-best defensive squad. If they can maintain this tenacity on that side of the ball, Magnolia will be in trouble during their Oct. 25 match.

5. Pulaski Academy

After losing to the Bryant Hornets on Oct. 11, the Bruins returned to the win column after a 56-47 triumph over Cabot. Pulaski Academy needed all of Brandon Cobb’s five touchdown passes to improve their record to 6-1. Meanwhile, William Svoboda added 14 catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns. The Bruins’ defense held their ground, collecting 11 tackles for losses and four sacks. They can start another winning streak if they pull off an upset against third-ranked Conway on the 25th.

6. Fayetteville

The Bulldogs were beaten 41-10 by the Bentonville Tigers. That result snapped their three-game winning streak, dropping their overall record to 5-2. Despite that loss, they remain one of the best teams in Arkansas high school football and have survived some close calls against Broken Arrow (30-23) and Rogers (41-38). They can bounce back by defeating Springdale on Oct. 25.

7. Bentonville

The Tigers used their home-field advantage to score an impressive victory against Fayetteville. They’ve established a 34-3 halftime advantage and never looked back. This result stretches their winning streak to four games, reversing their 0-3 start this season. Bentonville can continue their winning ways when they defeat tenth-ranked Rogers this week.

8. Benton

The Panthers’ winning streak is at six games after chalking up a 56-31 victory over El Dorado. Benton did most of the damage in the first half, scoring 42 points while limiting the Wildcats to 17. While they are not shutting down opponents, the fifth-best offense in Arkansas high school football has an average victory margin of 34.16 points. However, a tough challenge awaits the Panthers as they face 14th-ranked Little Rock Catholic on the 25th.

9. Shiloh Christian

The Saints are on a three-game winning streak after a 46-21 result against Russellville. That’s Shiloh Christian’s second-highest output in the 2024 Arkansas high school football season, indicating that they’re on a nice groove as of late. They can extend their streak to four games by defeating Siloam Springs on the road.

10. Rogers

The Mountaineers have scored three wins in their last four games, including their 48-9 domination of Springdale. This season, Rogers has contained its opponents to single digits in its five wins. However, it hasn’t had a marquee victory this year, and defeating Bentonville on the road this week can be the signature win it’s seeking.
