It’s no secret that the No. 18 IMG Academy (Fla.) offense runs through its elite point guard, five-star Darius Acuff.

While teams continue to try and prep for the future Arkansas Razorback, he continues to look like one of, if not the top point guard in the nation. Friday night was the latest example.

In a win over No. 13 Dynamic Prep (Texas) at IMG’s Ascender Classic, Acuff dropped 30 points and made it look easy. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder got easy looks at the rim and cashed in on a few 3-pointers, too.

It’s the latest big-time outing from Acuff as IMG improved to 14-6 on the season. He’s eclipsed 30 points multiple times this season, including a wicked 38-point performance at the City of Palms Classic that brought the Ascenders past Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy (Texas) in double overtime.

His performance at the City of Palms Classic caught the eye of On3’s Joe Tipton:

“Acuff is a scoring machine,” Tipton wrote after the second day of the event. “The Arkansas signee caught fire in the second half, knocking down shot after shot. When Acuff is connecting, he’s tough to stop. The senior point guard of IMG finished with 38 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Razorback fans should be ecstatic about him coming to Fayetteville next season.”

Acuff is the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 2 PG in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He committed to John Calipari and Arkansas at the end of July.

“Coach Calipari treats you like family. He welcomed me in on my visit like he knew me already. It was a great visit overall….They like my aggressiveness,” Acuff told On3. “He says he likes how I am able to get downhill, my pace, and my attitude for the game. They see that I just love the game so much and I just want to win.”

IMG Academy ranks as the No. 18 team in the nation and No. 3 team in Florida, according to the On3 Composite. The Ascenders own wins over the likes of La Lumiere (Ind.), Compass Prep (Ariz.), Oak Hill Academy (Va.) and Oak Ridge (Fla.) this season.

The On3 Composite High School Basketball Team Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies.
