Oklahoma 4-star RB commit Tory Blaylock opens season with massive three-touchdown showing
Houston (Texas) Atascocita football star Tory Blaylock is one of the prizes of Oklahoma’s 2025 recruiting class and one of the top high school running backs in the state of Texas.
The Eagles offense will be heavily dependent on him this year as the No. 5-ranked team in Texas looks to bring home a state title. They opened the season Thursday night with a showdown against Lamar, and Blaylock did not disappoint.
Atascocita raced to 28-0 halftime lead behind three of his touchdowns — two rushing scores and a 38-yard catch and run for another. Arguably the most impressive highlight of the night was this 70-yard scamper to put the game out of reach. Ultimately, the Eagles closed out a 35-7 victory.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Blaylock rushed for 616 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior, before committing to Oklahoma in March over Texas, Texas A&M and Ohio State. He was also the Texas District 21-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore.
He also boasts elite-level speed, turning in 100-meter dash times of 10.70 and a 10.83 as a freshman in the spring of 2022.

Coach regrets leaving LSU
After Atascocita career, Blaylock is excited to play for the Sooners
The Sooners hope that elite playmaking ability can transfer to the college level, and were recruiting him as hard as anyone when he committed in March. It was a longstanding relationship between the two parties, dating back to when he camped in Norman as a sophomore. He built a strong relationship with the coaching staff, especially running backs coach DeMarco Murray.
“The staff, it’s like a family and I really love that about the place,” Blaylock told On3’s Chad Simmons when he committed. “All of them either played there or coached there previously and they all came back to the same spot because of the love that the coaches showed to them. It is like one big family that they have up there.
… At Oklahoma, I am going to be coached by DeMarco Murray, someone who I looked up to as a kid. He was a great ballplayer. He’s been where I’m trying to get to. He’s been Offensive Player of the Year in the NFL and he has great plans for me in that system.”
