Bishop Gorman rolled over McQueen, 56-7, to claim the 5A state football championship on Thursday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Gorman Team 2021

The 2024 season brought another year of dominance for Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. The Gaels won another Nevada state title and lost just once all season, finishing as the No. 3 team in the On3 Composite Rankings.

To no surprise, head coach Brent Browner’s team is once again set to compete for the top spot in the nation in 2025. Bishop Gorman will face myriad tough foes this fall, including the one team that defeated it in 2024.

The 10-game schedule features games against teams from five states, including Nevada. The Gaels open the year with three of their first four games at home.

After opening the year against Las Vegas Centennial, Gorman will make the trek to Hawaii for a showdown against Kahuku, consistently one of the state’s top programs. Upon returning home, a massive three-game home stand awaits.

Lone Peak (Utah), East St. Louis (Ill.) and Mater Dei (Calif.) will each head to the Sin City. Mater Dei finished as the No. 1 team in the nation and defeated the Gaels 31-15 in Santa Ana last season. East St. Louis finished as the No. 17 team in the nation, while Lone Peak checked in at No. 50.

The Gaels then head to the Golden State to take on Santa Margarita Catholic at the end of September. Four in-state games round out the schedule, including back-to-back road showdowns at Somerset and Shadow Ridge to conclude the regular season.

Gorman to replace plenty of top talent in 2025

Bishop Gorman’s 2024 roster boasted plenty of elite prospects who have since signed with top college programs. The Gaels’ offensive line featured blue-chip Oregon signees in Alai Kalaniuvalu and Douglas Utu, as well as Miami signee SJ Alofaituli.

The 2025 roster will be headlined by some top seniors on defense, including four-star safety Jett Washington, three-star defensive lineman James Carrington and three-star EDGE Prince Williams.

On offense, quarterback Maika Eugenio is coming off a junior campaign that witnessed over 2,000 passing yards and 31 touchdowns. He’ll need new weapons to emerge following the departure of four-star wide receiver Derek Meadows (Alabama) and three-star WR Brandon Gaea (Hawaii).
