Huntington Beach (Calif.) quarterback Brady Edmunds has already etched his name into his school history books.

In the seventh game of his sophomore season, Edmunds became the school leader in career passing yards with 4,636. It took the 6-foot-5, 205-pounder just 20 games across a season and a half to break the record — which will likely be way out of reach for any future Huntington Beach QB once Edmunds moves on to college.

In 13 games starting as a freshman, Edmunds completed 164 passes for 2,691 yards and 24 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. He’s well on pace to break those numbers by the time his sophomore campaign wraps up, as he’s already at 130 completions, 1,945 yards and 19 TDs to just three INTs.

Edmunds debuted as the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 2 QB in the 2027 On300. While he still has a ways to go until he reaches the college level, Edmunds’ recruitment has already taken off.

Ohio State is trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Edmunds has already named a top four, including the Buckeyes, as well as Michigan, Penn State and Texas.

“The family aspect is big for me. My football coach will be like a father figure in my life. The relationship is important when I commit to a school,” Edmunds told On3 in an interview late in August.

“Ohio State has been one of my dream schools since Day one,” he said of the Buckeyes. “They have a great group of coaches in the quarterback room so it only makes sense as to why they have such a stacked room right now. They’re a national contender every year.”

The Oilers are 4-3 on the season following a 37-35 loss to La Habra last week. They rank as a top-150 team in the Golden State, according to the On3 Massey Ratings, and are scheduled to return to action on Oct. 18 at Santa Ana Foothill.
