It was a wild end to the recruiting process for Indialantic (Fla.) Cocoa four-star quarterback Brady Hart, but that didn’t hinder his play on the football field.

On Thursday afternoon, Hart threw for 259 yards passing and a touchdown on 22 completions, leading Cocoa to a 38-27 win over Gadsden County for the Tigers’ third consecutive FHSAA Class 2A state championship. He also ran for a score in the win.

The Texas A&M signee teamed up with Florida State four-star wide receiver signee Jayvan Boggs one final time, as Boggs caught six passes for 112 yards and a score. Cocoa scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to put things out of reach.

The victory closes out what was a successful final campaign for the 6-foot-5, 185-pound Hart. Completing 68 percent of his attempts this fall, Hart threw for 4,360 yards and 40 touchdowns, leading the state in passing.

Across his three seasons at Melbourne (Fla.) and Cocoa, Hart compiled over 8,200 passing yards and 82 TDs to just 20 interceptions. He threw 41 touchdowns as a sophomore last fall.

Hart will now head to College Station and begin his college career as an Aggie. He committed to Michigan in June as a member of the 2026 cycle, but dominoes began to fall once the Wolverines flipped Five-Star Plus+ QB Bryce Underwood from LSU.

Hart reassessed his options, and on Nov. 29, he decided to flip to A&M and also reclassify up to the 2025 cycle, forgoing what would’ve been his senior year of high school. He’s now a key cog in Mike Elko’s incoming recruiting class — which ranks No. 8 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The blue-chipper is the No. 233 overall prospect and No. 19 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 33 player in Florida.

Cocoa finished the season with an 11-3 record. The Tigers rank as the No. 91 team in the nation and the No. 9 team in the Sunshine State, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.
