The Bryant (Ark.) High School football team has been recognized as an Army National Guard Next Greatest Generation Team of the Year, honoring the Hornets’ continued dominance on the gridiron.

The 2024 season saw Bryant finish with an undefeated 13-0 record and another 7A state championship. The Hornets have now won six state titles in the last seven seasons, including five in a row beginning in 2018.

Bryant was absolutely dominant on both sides of the ball last season. It averaged over 48 points per game and exceeded that mark seven times across the year. On defense, it allowed just over 13 points per game and held nine teams to two touchdowns or less.

Receiving a bye into the quarterfinals of the state tournament, Bryant allowed seven total points en route to the title game, where it won a tight 28-23 contest over Bentonville. Senior quarterback Jordan Walker was instrumental in the win, rushing for 155 yards and three touchdowns while also throwing for 125 yards and a TD.

In the six games before the championship, Bryant had allowed just 34 combined points while scoring 318, overpowering its opponents.

“Hornet Nation has always been proud of all of our athletic teams. Having our Football team recognized nationally has raised the Bryant community and school district pride to another level,” Bryant Athletic Director Kirk Bock said. “Thank you On3 and the Army National Guard for making this possible.”

The Hornets consistently hovered around the top 25 of the On3 Composite Rankings — a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies — and closed the year as the top-ranked program in Arkansas once again. The 2024 team has been cemented as an all-time group in The Natural State.
