Cayden and Cameron Boozer led the Columbus Explorers basketball program to four consecutive Florida high school basketball state championships. Before they continue their basketball careers at Duke University, their high school alma mater retired their jerseys.

The school’s official account on X/Twitter shared photos from the Boozer’s jersey retirement ceremony on Thursday afternoon. The caption reads, “Two numbers. One legacy. No Explorer will ever wear 12 or 2 again.” Former NBA player Carlos Boozer, Cayden and Cameron’s father, attended the jersey retirement ceremony during the school’s Celebration of Champions.

Cayden and Cameron Boozer led Columbus to their fourth FHSAA Class 7A state championship by dominating Windermere 68-36. Cayden finished that game with 12 points, five rebounds, and six assists, while Cameron had 20 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, their efforts helped Columbus become the nation’s best team, based on the On3 Composite Team Rankings. In the three previous seasons, the twins helped the Explorers defeat Dr. Phillips, Winter Haven, and Oak Ridge for the state crown.

Cayden Boozer is the 22nd-best prospect in the nation based on the Class of 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He has 1,660 points, 467 rebounds, 702 assists, and 198 steals in four seasons with the Explorers. This season, Cayden is averaging 13.9 points, 7.3 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Meanwhile, Cameron Boozer has credentials to build a case as the most decorated high school basketball player of all time. In addition to the four state championships, he is a McDonald’s All-American selectee and the 2023 Gatorade National Player of the Year. Cameron also led Team USA to gold medal finishes in the FIBA Americas U16 and the FIBA U17 World Cup.

The 2023 Mr. Basketball USA winner averaged 22.6 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game this season. Those numbers, coupled with Columbus’ team success, made him the second-best prospect among the Class of 2025 ballers.

With the title secured, Cayden and Cameron Boozer will represent Columbus as the top seed in the upcoming Chipotle Nationals. The Explorers have a first-round bye and will have a quarterfinal showdown with either Wasatch Academy and IMG Academy.
