Elite high school prospect Osani Gayles transfers to IMG Academy
Wideout Osani Gayles announced on his X/Twitter account that will be transferring from St. Mary’s (California) to IMG Academy (Florida).
“After thoughtful discussions with my family, I’m excited to announce that I will be enrolling at @IMGAFootball to further my academic and football journey in high school,” Gayles posted.
While Gayles’ numbers with the Rams are not eye-popping, he has manifested potential as a rusher and a return specialist. He had 43 receptions for 756 yards, 22 carries for 218 rushing yards, and nine total touchdowns last season. Those numbers are significantly higher than his 516 total yards and six touchdowns in his freshman year.
His on-field performance earned him an invitation to last year’s Under Armour Next Camp in Seattle. Meanwhile, he channels his track and field background to leap over defenders or create separation when running routes.
Osani Gayles has an 88.41 On3 Industry Ranking, making him the sixth-best prospect among Class of ’27 wide receivers. While he has two years left in high school, Gayles is already fielding offers from some prominent college football programs.

In June 2024, he received offers from Oregon, Washington, Washington State, and Stanford. Since then, the 5-foot-11 wideout fielded additional offers from Tennessee, Penn State, and Minnesota.
Gayles will join a team that finished the 2024 season with a 7-2 record, making them the fourth-best team in the Florida On3 Composite Team Rankings. The Crusaders defeated some highly ranked teams like Bergen Catholic, Cocoa, Venice, East St. Louis, and Central (Alabama).
His transfer comes at a perfect time as wideouts Donovan Olugbode (Missouri) and Raiden Vines-Bright (Washington) leave IMG for college. Wide receiver Adonis Moise is also moving to Kansas State after finishing his high school eligibility.
Meanwhile, Osani Gayles will be joining a receiving corps featuring Alex Cross, Eric McFarland, and Liam Carroll.
