Sophomore quarterback prospect Neimann Lawrence will transfer from Ransom Everglades to Miami Northwestern. It’s a move that can sustain the Bulls’ status as a top contender in Florida high school football.

As 305 Sports posted, Lawrence had 2,851 passing yards, 31 passing touchdowns, and four rushing scores during his freshman season. Those numbers helped the Raiders finish with a 6-4 record. However, their season ended with a loss to Monsignor Pace in the Florida Class 2A state tournament regional quarterfinals.

Lawrence will join a team that dominated Raines in the Class 3A state championship game. Under Coach Teddy Bridgewater’s guidance, Miami Northwestern finished the season with a 12-2 record while earning their eighth state title. That achievement made the Bulls the sixth-best team in Florida, based on the On3 Composite Team Rankings.

Neimann Lawrence could compete for the starting role against Leon Strawder. During his junior season with the Bulls, Strawder had 168 completions for 2,677 passing yards and 41 touchdowns. Against Raines, Strawder was big time, finishing with 19 passes for 361 yards and four touchdowns.

While Lawrence still has three years left in high school football, top college football programs have offered him a scholarship. After visiting the Buckeyes’ campus last September, Ohio State looks like the frontrunner. As Alex Gleitman wrote, Lawrence admitted that the Buckeyes are among the top teams he’s considering.

In addition to Ohio State, the Miami Hurricanes have expressed interest in the quarterback who grew up in their backyard. Miami invited Lawrence for visits on two consecutive weekends last month. CaneSport’s Izubee Charles wrote that he and Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward have had meaningful conversations during his visits.

Florida State, University of Central Florida, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Texas Christian University have pitched their offers to Neimann Lawrence. However, he should prioritize helping Miami Northwestern extend its championship reign, especially after Strawder graduates in 2026.
