Connecticut High School Football Alliance Releases 2025 Schedule
The Connecticut High School Football Alliance has released its schedule for the 2025 season. Not to be mistaken for the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, the CHSFA includes only 121 teams representing seven of the state’s football leagues.
While the allegiance still adheres to the governing body (CIAC), it provides member schools with competitive regular-season scheduling. Although the game schedules don’t have definite dates yet, they will include teams from the Naugatuck Valley League, which joined the alliance this year.
As News Times’ Sean Barker wrote, here’s the breakdown of schools included in the alliance based on their conferences.
- Central Connecticut Conference (CCC) – 30
- Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) – 21
- Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) – 16
- Naugatuck Valley League (NVL) – 16
- Eastern Connecticut Conference (ECC) – 14
- South-West Conference (SWC) – 12
- Connecticut Technical Conference (CTC) – 9
- Independents – 3
These teams will play 129 games against each other, and the opening week will feature 61 matchups. The pairings for these “week one” games were based on their finish during last season’s playoffs.

The Connecticut High School Football Alliance scheduled additional games in the succeeding weeks because the independent teams needed them. Likewise, some conferences have an odd number of teams, which the alliance had to consider when scheduling.
The alliance scheduled 101 games last season, with the SWC having the best record at 19-15 (.558). The SCC had a 27-24 record (.529), while the FCIAC went 16-15 (.516). The CHSFA has scheduled 531 games since 2017, except in 2020, when CIAC canceled the season.
