After spending the last seven seasons as head coach of Pleasant Grove (Ala.), Darrell LeBeaux is leaving the 4A program to become the new offensive coordinator at Hoover (Ala.).

The move was officially announced on Tuesday night.

“God has been good to me and pray he continues to allow me to live in my purpose. Geaux Bucs. Geaux Be Great,” LeBeaux wrote on X.

The Hoover staff continues to change, with LeBeaux now officially on staff under head coach Chip English — who had the interim tag removed from his title after a successful 2024 season that saw Hoover finish with a 10-3 record.

LeBeaux leaves Pleasant Grove after seven seasons in charge. He compiled a 75-16 record and took the Spartans to three consecutive state championship games from 2019-2021. Pleasant Grove finished with a 9-2 record in 2024, losing in the second round of the playoffs.

“It has been my pleasure and honor to serve the players, faculty, staff and community for these last seven years,” LeBeaux wrote announcing his departure. “Thank you for welcoming me home. Nothing will ever erase the memories created. Continue to protect the standard.”

He’ll now head to Hoover and take over the offense of one of the state’s top programs. In 13 games this past season, the Buccaneers averaged just over 28 points per game. They won six of their final seven games of the campaign, losing in the third round of the 7A playoffs to Phenix City Central.

Hoover finished as the No. 147 team in the nation and No. 7 team in Alabama, according to the On3 Composite Rankings. Pleasant Grove was the state’s No. 47 team in 2024.
