Dan Skipper - Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions offensive tackle Dan Skipper (70) celebrates 34-17 win over Chicago Bears as he exits the field at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill. on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024.

Offensive lineman Dan Skipper will enter his eighth year with the Detroit Lions. However, before their preparations for the 2025 National Football League season, he is sharing his knowledge with high school football players.

The former Arkansas standout visited Alabama’s Gulf Shores High School. The official account of the school’s football team on X/Twitter shared photos from Skipper’s visit with the caption, “Thank you Detroit Lions @DanSkipper70 for sharing with our team and working with our O-lineman today!  We are your biggest fans!”

The knowledge that Dan Skipper shared could help the Dolphins turn the tide. Gulf Shores finished their 2024 Alabama high school football session with a 4-6 record, including a 4-4 mark in their region.

It’s the Dolphins’ first losing season under head coach Mark Hudspeth, who took over the team in 2021. Gulf Shores went 6-4 during Hudspeth’s first year, 11-2 in the second year, and a perfect 15-0 in 2023.

Skipper has played for the Lions for four stints, with his first run lasting for two seasons (2017-2018). He tried out for the Denver Broncos before joining the New England Patriots. He was part of the team that won Super Bowl LIII against the Los Angeles Rams. Skipper played for the Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, and Indianapolis Colts before his second, third, and fourth stints with the Lions.

Dan Skipper has played 57 games in seven years and had his first receiving touchdown last season. He will rejoin one of the National Football League’s offensive line with Taylor Decker, Graham Glasgow, Frank Ragnow, and Penei Sewell.
