Donovan Williams Jr. Transfers from Oak Hill Academy to Oak Ridge (FL)

Point guard Donovan Williams Jr. will return to his hometown for his senior high school basketball season. As SI.com’s Ross Van De Griek wrote, the three-star prospect will transfer from Virginia’s Oak Hill Academy to Orlando’s Oak Ridge High School.
Williams is no stranger to Florida high school basketball. He played for Edgewater during his first two seasons and averaged 16.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game during his sophomore season.
However, Donovan Williams Jr. gained more attention when he played well during his Nike Elite Youth Basketball League stints with the Florida Rebels. He turned heads with his performances during the EYBL’s Kansas City and Memphis legs.
Meanwhile, adding Williams could help a Pioneers team that went 17-10 last season and reached the Florida Class 7A regional finals. This result ranks them 11th in last season’s Florida On3 Composite Team Rankings.

His arrival will also help Oak Ridge address the departures of Jalen Reece (LSU) and Jamier Jones (Providence). Likewise, Williams can serve as a mentor to younger players, such as Torrence Moore and Soloman Bradshaw.
Donovan Williams Jr. has an 87.70 On3 Industry Ranking, making him the 30th-best point guard prospect from the Class of 2026. In addition to local colleges such as Jacksonville, South Florida, and UCF, he has also received offers from Arizona State, Illinois, Mercer, Michigan, and West Virginia.
