Duncanville (Texas) outlasts Oak Ridge (Fla.) in double OT at Florida Hoopfest
Orlando is hosting some of the nation’s top high school basketball programs this weekend for the Hoopfest Series. The main event on Saturday night featured Duncanville (Texas) and Oak Ridge (Fla.), a top-10 team in the nation.
The teams went back and forth all night, but it was the out-of-state Panthers that pulled out a gargantuan 95-90 win in double overtime. Pacing the Lone Star program was TCU four-star shooting guard commit Kayden Edwards, who finished with 45 points and five rebounds.
Sophomore guard Deuce Hunt also poured in 23 points to go with four boards. Hunt and Edwards were the only Panthers to reach double-figures in the win.
Oak Ridge was once again led by Jamier Jones, the four-star small forward signed to Providence. He nearly matched Edwards with 41 points of his own, continuing an impressive run of play that also saw him tear up opposing defenses at the City of Palms Classic earlier this month.

The win for Duncanville is its ninth of the season, but certainly its best thus far. The Panthers are currently the No. 60 team in the nation and the No. 5 team in Texas, according to the On3 Composite Rankings. Oak Ridge checks in at No. 7 nationally and No. 2 in Florida.
Holiday tournaments are pairing plenty of the nation’s top teams against one another and Duncanville continues to prove that it can hang with some of the best. The Panthers will ring in the new year at HoopHall in Phoenix, with their first game coming against De La Salle (Calif.) on Jan. 2.
Oak Ridge picked up a pair of wins in Fort Myers at City of Palms last week and will continue its treacherous in-state slate in January.
