With Immanuel Iheanacho on the final stage of his high school football career, he’s already making moves to prepare for the next chapter. That said, the Oregon Ducks are one of the teams highly interested in getting the Class of 2026’s third-best prospect.

However, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning is engaging with prospects in non-traditional ways. There’s a viral video of him jumping into a pool with Richard Wesley, who eventually decommitted from the Ducks. This time, Ihenacho and Lanning engaged in a pushup match.

As Immanuel Ihenacho posted on his X/Twitter account, he and Lanning raced to 25 pushups. As the Georgetown Prep player said, “ik (I know) I won, just showing proof.” It’s a close call, as shown in this video.

It could be Lanning’s way of building rapport with recruits. So far, it seems to be working with Immanuel Iheanacho as On3 predicted there’s an 89.8 percent chance of the offensive tackle going to Eugene. Getting him boosts Oregon’s competitiveness and strength, as seen in Ihenacho’s videos of him setting personal records on the barbell back squat.

In addition to Oregon, Immanuel Ihenacho made official visits to Penn State, Auburn, and LSU. However, the Ducks might have the inside track because Lanning also offered his younger brother, Michael Iheanacho, to play in Oregon. As On3’s Chad Simmons wrote, that’s an overwhelming development for the five-star offensive tackle.

Ihenacho said, “I was so happy. I didn’t even cry when I got my offer, but when he offered Michael, I just broke down. It was such a big moment for him and my family.”

Immanuel Iheanacho, Felix Ojo, Lamar Brown, and Tyler Atkinson are the Class of 2026 top ten members who remain uncommitted. The offensive lineman from Maryland who received comparisons to Amarius Mims also received offers from Maryland, Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Ohio State, among others.
