Five-star OT prospect Immanuel Iheanacho sets personal record on the barbell back squat

While offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho ranks second among the class of 2026 prospects, he remains uncommitted to a collegiate home. However, it doesn’t mean he’s not getting any attention, as he received offers from Maryland, Alabama, and Oregon, among others.
It’s easy to see why elite college football programs are working hard to land the offensive lineman from Georgetown Prep. For starters, he can build a wall between his quarterback and edge rushers with his 6-foot-5, 350-pound frame. He also became the Conference Offensive Player of the Year after allowing zero sacks during his junior season.
In addition to him playing his role at a high level, Immanuel Iheanacho also possesses insane physical strength. In a video he posted on his X/Twitter profile, Iheanacho completed a personal best 530-pound barbell back squat. While he had two people at his vicinity in case things turn bad, he did the rep with ease.
This brute force is only one aspect that made him the second-highest prospect among incoming seniors, based on the On3 Industry Rankings. Iheanacho has a 98.66 mark, not far behind top-ranked Jackson Cantwell (98.81). Likewise, getting First-Team All-State honors in 2023 (the only underclassman in the group) bolsters his grade.

Meanwhile, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote about Immanuel Iheanacho:
“Mountain of an offensive tackle prospect with light-footed movement skills. Has truly rare dimensions for a young offensive tackle. Shows good flexibility and functional movement skills at his immense size. Owns one of the more powerful punches we’ve seen among offensive tackle prospects in the past few cycles. Absolutely stones defensive linemen at the point of attack. Length, hand strength, and girth create a nearly unmovable anchor.”
However, while he’s fielding several college football offers, Immanuel Iheanacho remains mum about his decision. When fellow Class of 2026 prospect Tradarian Ball tweeted “#Immanuel2Eugene,” the highly touted offensive lineman responded with a face with peeking eye emoji.
Now, the Terrapins are favored to land the Baltimore native. However, the Penn State Nittany Lions, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Crimson Tide, and Ducks are still in the running.
