Top High School Football Games in Georgia

#17 Camden County vs. #21 LowndesFriday, Oct. 18
After suffering its first loss of the season to No. 7 Valdosta, Camden County rebounded nicely last week with an 18-point win over Richmond Hill. Now 6-1, the Wildcats continue to tout one of the state’s top offenses and are now averaging over 48 points per game. Lowndes enters on a similar path, having won its last time out after losing its first game of the season to No. 20 Colquitt County the week prior. The 6-1 Vikings have leaned on a rock-solid defense in 2024, having allowed less than two touchdowns in game five times this season. Camden’s offense will be a different animal on Friday, but the Massey Ratings predict a 40-35 win for Lowndes.

#24 Houston County vs. #13 CoffeeFriday, Oct. 18
Houston County is back in the state top 25 and will look for its first ranked victory of the season on Friday night at Coffee. Led by Memphis four-star QB commit Antwann Hill Jr., the 6-1 Bears are averaging over 48 points per game and are coming off a 63-point outing last time out. Coffee also enters at 6-1 and is coming off its first loss of the season, a 48-14 defeat to top-ranked Lee County. The Trojans still have the No. 5 defense in the state, per the Massey Ratings, and will look for a big bounce back on Friday. Coffee is predicted to win 35-28.

#7 Valdosta vs. Richmond HillFriday, Oct. 18
Valdosta is now 7-0 and has surged into the state top 10 having shown it can win games in multiple ways. After taking down Camden County 56-37 in a shootout, the Wildcats defeated No. 20 Colquitt County 7-3 in a defensive slog last time out. Richmond Hill is coming off its first loss of the season, a 28-10 defeat on the road to Camden County. The now unranked Wildcats are 6-1 and are looking for their first ranked win of the 2024 campaign. The Massey Ratings predict a 35-19 win on the road for No. 7 Valdosta.

#19 Cartersville vs. CedartownFriday, Oct. 18
Two of the most underrated teams in the state will square off this week when 8-0 Cartersville heads to 8-0 Cedartown. The No. 19 Purple Hurricanes have hovered around the back end of the top 25 all season and have a chance to make another move this week ahead of the postseason. Neither team has a ranked win under its belt thus far, meaning Friday’s matchup will likely be the biggest test for each team all year. Cedartown is the No. 29 team in the state this week. The Massey Ratings predict a 28-21 win for Cartersville.
