Georgia High School Football Games of the Week

The 2024 high school football season in Georgia is entering the final two weeks and another round of ranked matchups are on deck.

Three games featuring a pair of teams ranked in the On3 Massey Ratings state top 25 are on the docket, headlined by a battle between No. 22 Gainesville and No. 16 Roswell.

Below are the games of the week to keep an eye on in the Peach State across the coming days:

The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

Top High School Football Games in Georgia

#23 Norcross vs. #7 North GwinnettFriday, Oct. 25
Norcross has hovered around the back of the state top 25 all season and now has an opportunity to make a big splash heading into the postseason. The Blue Devils are 7-1 with just one win over a top-30 team in-state. No. 7 North Gwinnett will provide their biggest challenge of the season to this point. The undefeated 8-0 Bulldogs have rolled through the back half of their schedule and now have a top-20 offense, per the Massey Ratings. The Massey Ratings predict a 34-20 win for North Gwinnett.

#22 Gainesville vs. #16 RoswellFriday, Oct. 25
Both of Gainesville’s losses this season have come to top-three teams in the state in Carrollton and Milton. The 7-2 Red Elephants have been dominant on both sides of the ball, having eclipsed 40 points six times while allowing 10 or less points five times. Roswell enters at 7-1 and is averaging 52.2 points per game across its last four outings. The Hornets are pushing for top-10 status and will look for their second ranked victory of the season on Friday night. The Massey Ratings predict a big 34-28 win for Roswell.

#19 Colquitt County vs. #25 Camden CountyFriday, Oct. 25
It’s been an up-and-down season for Colquitt County, who is now 5-3 on the year following a 35-17 win at Tift County last week. The Packers still have a top-10 offense and top-15 defense in the state, per the Massey Ratings, and are capable of going toe-to-toe with the best in the state. Camden County lost to No. 13 Lowndes last time out and is looking to duck a losing streak in its fourth consecutive game against a top-30 in-state program. The Wildcats also pack an offensive punch, though the Massey Ratings predict a 36-28 road win for Colquitt.

#6 Thomas County Central vs. Houston CountyFriday, Oct. 25
Since suffering its first loss of the season to top-ranked Lee County, Thomas County Central has rebounded with a pair of 60-point offensive showings and is now 7-1 this season. The Yellow Jackets have scored 50-plus five times in 2024, though the competition hasn’t been stout. Houston County is led by Memphis four-star QB commit Antwann Hill Jr., one of the top signal-callers in the state. The Bears are 6-2 and will look to knock off a top-10 foe on Friday before finishing the season against No. 1 Lee County the following week. The Massey Ratings predict a 42-23 win for Thomas County Central.
