One of the top high school football players in the state of Georgia is on the move.

According to Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman, four-star defensive end Dre Quinn is transferring from Norcross (Ga.) Greater Atlanta Christian to powerhouse Buford (Ga.) for his senior season.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder was one of the Peach State’s most disruptive defenders as a junior, totaling 42 tackles, including 9.5 tackles for loss, as well as 2.5 sacks. He has racked up more than 25 Power 4 offers thus far, and told On3’s Chad Simmons in April that he was focused on six schools: Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Clemson, Georgia, Texas and Tennessee.

“I feel best about these schools,” he told Simmons. “They share the same principles, I have relationships with each school and I think that all six fit me. It was hard to get it down to six and there are a lot of great schools that I like, but I have visited a lot of schools and these stand out.”

His addition is another major one for the Wolves, who will return one of the state’s most talented rosters. Buford finished 12-2 in 2024, with a lone regular season loss to 7A champion Milton and a 30-17 defeat to eventual state runner-up Carrollton in the 6A state semifinals.

Wolves have title hopes after falling short last year

Starting quarterback Dayton Raiola will lead the offense. The younger brother of Nebraska sophomore Dylan Raiola, Dayton is committed to the Huskers and coming off a season where he threw for 1,953 yards and 19 touchdowns. Alongside him, Buford returns multiple blue-chip prospects in the 2026 class, including elite EDGE Bryce Perry-Wright, four-star safety Tyriq Green, Georgia four-star offensive line commit Graham Houston and four-star safety Nascar McCoy.

With Quinn in the fold, they’ll trot out one of the most feared defenses in state. And they’ll need it with a stout slate of opponents this fall en route to the playoffs. They open the season August 14 against Milton in a nationally televised game on ESPN, a rematch of their showdown last year that went Milton’s way 13-10.

The first of four road games for Buford will come the following week at Benedictine in Savannah. Buford won a tight 29-28 game against the Cadets at home last year.

After an early bye, the Wolves begin a three-game stretch of home bouts against RoswellDouglas County and Discovery. Douglas County finished as the No. 7 team in the state last season. A three-game road stretch then follows. October will see the Wolves head to Collins HillDacula and Central Gwinnett. Home games against Mountain View and Mill Creek will round out the regular season.
