Georgia High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - September 2
The 2024 Georgia high school football rankings continue to fluctuate with the Peach State season now three weeks in.
Just one new team has entered the On3 Massey Ratings Georgia top 25 this week, but there’s been plenty of fluctuation in the top 10. Carrollton is now the No. 2 team in the state, while previous No. 2 Colquitt County fell 16 spots to No. 18 after an upset loss to North Gwinnett — which now checks in at No. 12.
Below are the updated top 25 programs in Georgia heading into the first weekend of September.
The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

1. Milton (3-0)
Previous: No. 1
After rising to No. 1 last week, Milton held serve in a 58-0 thrashing of Alpharetta to improve to 3-0. The Eagles continue to dominate on both sides of the ball and are now entering a bye week as they gear up for a road trip to Roswell to take on Blessed Trinity Catholic on Sept. 13. Through the first stretch of the season, Milton’s offense ranks No. 10 in the state, while its defense checks in at No. 3, as of Sept. 2.
2. Carrollton (3-0)
Previous: No. 7 (+5)
The Trojans received a five-spot bump in the rankings after overwhelming Rome in a 44-22 win. USC five-star quarterback commit Julian Lewis accumulated six touchdowns and 352 passing yards in the big victory, continuing his excellent start to the season. Carrollton remains home this week to host Lithia Springs.
3. Mill Creek (3-0)
Previous: No. 3
Mill Creek took the field at home for the first time last week and crushed Archer in a 48-14 win. The Hawks have outscored their opponents 125-50 through three games. The biggest test of the season thus far awaits on Friday as No. 12 North Gwinnett makes the trip from Suwanee to Hoschton for one of just two top-25 games in the state this week.
4. Coffee (3-0)
Previous: No. 5 (+1)
Offenses have proven to be no match for Coffee’s defense so far in 2024, as the Trojans have allowed just 35 points amidst its 3-0 start. Favored to win each of its three matchups in September, Coffee is on bye this week before taking on Gadsden County from Havana, Fla. on Sept. 13. Coffee’s defense currently ranks No. 4 in the state.
5. Lee County (3-0)
Previous: No. 9 (+4)
In its last two wins, Lee County has scored 121 points total while holding Hapeville Charter and Tift County to 6 and 7 points, respectively. Uncommitted four-star running back Ousmane Kromah collected a 67-yard touchdown and now has five scores on the season. The Trojans are also idle this week, providing some extra time to prepare for a major ranked matchup on the road against No. 18 Colquitt County on Sept. 13.
6. Thomas County Central (3-0)
Previous: No. 8 (+2)
Thomas County Central continued its offensive tear last week by putting up 63 points in a win over Florida State University School (Fla.). Now up to No. 6 in the state, the Yellow Jackets will look to keep the momentum rolling for their rivalry game against in-town Thomasville on Friday night. Also 3-0, Thomasville ranks No. 45 in the state this week.
7. Langston Hughes (2-0)
Previous: No. 4 (-3)
After scoring 52 points in each of its first two games of the season, Langston Hughes was idle last week, allowing some extra time to get ready for a big-time road trip to No. 11 Douglas County on Friday night. The Panthers will enter the matchup with the No. 2-ranked offense in the state, though Douglas County has also been a scoring machine throughout its 3-0 start.

8. Grayson (2-1)
Previous: No. 10 (+2)
The season-opening loss looks to be well behind Grayson following a 53-0 shutout of Dorman (S.C.) last week. The Rams responded well with an impressive road win over Thompson (Ala.) the week prior and are now getting ready for another trip out of the Peach State. Mallard Creek (N.C.) awaits in Charlotte this Friday and is currently ranked as the No. 3 team in North Carolina.
9. Collins Hill (3-0)
Previous: No. 12 (+3)
Collins Hill’s season-opening victory over Grayson looks far less like an upset just three weeks into the season, as the Eagles are now 3-0 following a 44-13 win over Cedar Grove last week. Despite ranking outside the top 30 in offense in the state, Collins Hill has gotten by thanks to a sturdy defense that checks in at No. 13. It will look to hold steady once more this Friday as it heads to Lilburn to take on Parkview.
10. Roswell (2-0)
Previous: 19 (+9)
Roswell delivered an impressive 42-32 win over then top-10 Walton last week, thanks in-part to a pair of touchdowns from Pittsburgh athlete commit Synkwan Smith. South Carolina EDGE commit Kobby Sakyi-Prah delivered three sacks in the victory. The Hornets were the second biggest mover in the ratings this week and now have another ranked matchup on the way, as No. 13 Buford will make the trip in on Friday.
