Another California high school football head coaching hire has been made, as Heritage Christian has tabbed Ben McEnroe as the school’s new skipper, according to High School on SI’s Tarek Fattal.
McEnroe is now set to head to Northridge after two successful seasons as the head coach at Thousand Oaks, where he won 17 games and led the Lancers to a pair of CIF semifinal appearances. McEnroe’s resignation from his position was announced Monday morning.
Prior to his time at Thousand Oaks, McEnroe was the longtime head coach at Cal Lutheran University from 2007-2021. During his time at CLU, McEnroe won 74 games and five Southern California Intercollegiate Conference championships.
McEnroe spoke with The Lancer, the Thousand Oaks student newspaper, about his resignation:
“It is unfortunate the circumstances that surrounded the reason for the decision; hopefully, people will know everything I’ve done here has been out of love for our student-athletes to help them develop and grow as men. There comes a point in time you’ve got to stand up and protect your family and that’s what I’m doing.”
