High School Football Rankings: National top 25 teams – Nov. 3
Another week of high school football has come to a close across the country, and the national top-25 rankings are now updated.
The state playoffs have already started in a number of states, with others joining the fray in the coming weeks.
Below are the top 25 teams in the country heading into the second weekend of November.
The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

1. Mater Dei (Calif.)
Previous Rank: No. 1
The Monarchs capped an undefeated regular season with a 38-14 win over California’s No. 5 team, Orange Lutheran. Now they’ll await their pairing for the CIF-Southern Section playoffs, which is released at 9:30 a.m. PT on Sunday.
2. Duncanville (Texas)
Previous Rank: No. 2
Duncanville now sits at 9-0 after easily routing Mesquite 50-6 on Friday night. The Panthers will close the regular season against Cedar Hill on Friday before bi-districts begin in two weeks.
3. North Shore (Texas)
Previous Rank: No. 3
The Mustangs made quick work of C.E. King, blowing past the visitors 42-14 over the weekend. That sets up a huge matchup on Friday against Texas top-10 foe Summer Creek.
4. St. John Bosco (Calif.)
Previous Rank: No. 4
Bosco responded after a 59-14 shellacking at the hands of Mater Dei by beating Trinity League rival J Serra Catholic on Friday 44-24. Up next are the playoffs, where they’ll look to get their revenge in the later rounds against the Monarchs.
5. North Crowley (Texas)
Previous Rank: No. 6
North Crowley continued its dream season by waxing Mansfield 59-11 on Friday. The only thing between them and an undefeated season now is rival Crowley, who they’ll travel to face on Thursday night.
6. Southlake Carroll (Texas)
Previous Rank: No. 5
The Dragons finished off a perfect 10-0 season by beating Keller Central 48-15 on Friday night. They’ll now have a well-deserved week off before the playoffs begin.
7. Bishop Gorman (Nev.)
Previous Rank: No. 7
After a loss to Mater Dei in early September, the Gaels reeled off seven straight wins to finish the regular season 9-1. And they did so while absolutely dominating their in-state opponents. The Nevada high school playoffs open this coming week, but they’ll have a bye before facing the winner of Liberty and Foothill, two teams they combined to beat 99-0 earlier this season.

8. Atascocita (Texas)
Previous Rank: No. 8
The Eagles rebounded from their first loss of the season to North Shore by demolishing 1-win Channelview 55-0 on Friday night. They will close the year with a game against 0-9 Goose Creek Memorial before the playoffs start.
9. DeSoto (Texas)
Previous Rank: No. 9
DeSoto’s high-flying offense flexed its muscles again on Friday in a 70-38 win over Skyline. But the Eagles’ defense has to be of some concern after giving up 24 points to Horn, 24 to Cedar Hill and 38 to Skyline. 4-5 Lancaster is their final opponent before the playoffs begin.
10. St. Frances Academy (Md.)
Previous Rank: No. 15
The Panthers were dominant from start to finish on Friday against IMG Academy, a team that has given them fits over the year. St. Frances won in a 30-3 rout and will now close the regular season against Baltimore rival Mt. Zion Prep.
