Another huge weekend of high school football is behind us after games across the country, and the national top-25 rankings are now updated.

The top four teams remain the same after convincing wins over the weekend. But there’s been major shakeup elsewhere after some big wins and surprising upset losses.

LATEST TOP 25 SCORES FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY

Below are the top 25 teams in the country heading into the final week of October:

The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

1. Mater Dei (Calif.)

Previous Rank: No. 1

The Monarchs opened the season as the country’s No. 1 team and still remain there after a 7-0 start. With a trio of California top-10 wins at their back, they’ll face rival and No. 3 St. John Bosco in one of the country’s biggest games this season on Friday night.

2. Duncanville (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 2

A week after beating rival and fellow top-10 team DeSoto handily, Duncanville had no problem with Lancaster (Texas), winning 41-7. They are heavily favored in each of their final three regular season games.

3. St. John Bosco (Calif.)

Previous Rank: No. 3

The Braves are 8-0, despite having only played one unranked team this year. After top-10 wins over Orange Lutheran, Santa Margarita Catholic and Servite, they’ll get their biggest test of the year Friday at No. 1 Mater Dei.

4. Atascocita (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 4

Atascocita has been dominant against less-talented teams this year but got everything it could handle and more from Kingwood on Friday night. The Eagles ultimately escaped with a 42-41 win, but have by far their biggest game of the season this week against No. 7 North Shore.

5. Southlake Carroll (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 6 (+1)

Carroll took care of business in impressive fashion over the weekend, routing previously undefeated Northwest 48-7 on the road. Only two games stand between the Dragons and an undefeated regular season.

6. North Crowley (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 7 (+1)

After smacking 1-win Lake Ridge two weeks ago 66-7, North Crowley followed that up with an equally dominant 62-6 win over winless Weatherford on Friday night. Sitting at 7-0, they’re now heavily favored to finish the regular season undefeated.

7. North Shore (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 5 (-2)

Following blowout wins over back-to-back winless opponents — in which they won by a combined score of 125-0 — North Shore will get a huge test on the road Friday night at Atascocita, the state’s No. 2 team.

8. Bishop Gorman (Nev.)

Previous Rank: No. 8

The Gaels rolled again on Friday night, blitzing Basic 63-0 and grabbing their third shutout in the past four games. State top-15 opponents Desert Pines and Coronado await the next two weeks, but Gorman is heavily favored to win both of those.

9. DeSoto (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 10 (+1)

The Eagles responded to a blowout loss against Duncanville by beating 1-win Horn 50-24 on Friday night. They’re projected to win each of their next three games handily before the playoffs begin.

10. IMG Academy (Fla.)

Previous Rank: No. 9 (-1)

After multiple weeks off — in part due to the effects of recent hurricanes — IMG will be back on the field this week for the first time since Oct. 4. Awaiting them is Illinois’ No. 1 team: 8-0 East St. Louis.
