Hoophall Classic: No. 1 Columbus (Fla.) cruises past No. 22 Notre Dame (Calif.)
Columbus (Fla.) is one of the top battle-tested high school boys basketball programs in the nation and it looked the part on Saturday night.
The No. 1 Explorers shot 50.9 percent from the field and rolled past No. 22 Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (Calif.) 76-53 at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass. The Columbus front line was outstanding.
Twin Duke signees Cameron and Cayden Boozer dominated the Notre Dame defense. Cameron finished with 25 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks. Cayden wasn’t far behind, tallying 19 points, seven assists, four boards and a steal.
Junior small forward Caleb Gaskins was also fantastic, finishing with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Columbus was a force down low, scoring 38 of its points in the paint.

Notre Dame star junior forward Tyran Stokes stuffed the stat sheet in a losing effort, finishing with nine points, six assists and five rebounds. Caleb Ogbu led the Knights with 16 points.
With the win, Columbus improves to 16-3 on the season and continues to look like the nation’s best. Notre Dame, the No. 5 team in California per the On3 Composite Rankings, drops to 17-3 overall.
