The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Hoophall Classic annual high school basketball showcase will tip off Thursday afternoon in Springfield, Massachusetts, and dozens of the nation’s best prospects will be on the court this weekend.

The first boys basketball game will tip off at 1 p.m. Eastern between Newton North (Mass.) and Albany (Calif.). Games will be played through the Martin Luther King Day weekend and into Monday.

Fifteen of the top 25 teams in the National On3 High School Boys Basketball Composite Rankings will participate in the Hoophall Classic — including No. 1 Columbus (Fla.).

The On3 Composite High School Basketball Team Rankings is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies. It includes Massey, Max Preps, ESPN, and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.

Several of the top prospects in the 2025 recruiting class will also be in action — like No. 1 AJ Dybantsa, No. 2 Cameron Boozer and No. 3 Darryn Peterson.

More on the event from the Hoophall Classic website:

“The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Hoophall Classic annually features the top high school players and teams from around the country. The event is held over the Martin Luther King Day Weekend at Springfield College’s Blake Arena and has hosted NBA Champions and All-Stars, many NBA First Round Draft Picks, College All-Americans and McDonald’s All-Americans.”
