Hoophall West 2025 Results: Roosevelt (Calif.) Dominates Layton Christian (Utah)

The Roosevelt Mustangs dominated the Layton Christian Eagles in their Hoophall West High School Invitational 2025 showdown 56-36. After a 21-21 deadlock at halftime, the California-based squad dominated their opponents from Utah in the closing half.

The Mustangs limited the Eagles to 15 points in the third and fourth quarters while scoring 35. This result improves their record to 17-1 after earning another victory against Sandra Day O’Connor yesterday.

Myles Walker had 17 points, four assists, and four steals, while Brayden Burries added 11 points and nine rebounds. Isaac Williamson contributed ten points, while Dominic Copenhagen chipped nine for Roosevelt.

Conversely, Alan Gballou led Layton Christian with 12 points, while Sebastien Khan finished with seven points and two steals. UNLV commit Tyrin Jones had five points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in the loss.

While both teams had 24 points in the paint, the Mustangs had a 24-4 edge in points off turnovers. Roosevelt’s defense led to Layton Christian committing 25 turnovers in this Hoophall West faceoff while they only had nine. The Mustangs also had slight advantages in second-chance points (7-4) and fastbreak points (4-2).

Likewise, Roosevelt negated the Eagles’ advantages in rebounds (33-27) and blocks (5-1) by shooting better from the three-point line at 28.6 percent. Layton Christian failed to keep up with the Mustangs’ offense, finishing with a 20 percent clip from beyond the arc.
