Below is the updated Illinois On3 Massey Ratings top 25, as of Oct. 13.
1. East St. Louis
Still undefeated in 2024, East St. Louis hammered Alton 57-0 on Friday to improve to 7-0. The Flyers have the No. 2 offense and No. 3 defense in Illinois and are once again big favorites this week in their home matchup with No. 24 Edwardsville. After facing Edwardsville, East St. Louis will play in one of the nation’s top games on Oct. 25 when it takes on IMG Academy (Fla.).
2. Lincoln-Way East
Lincoln-Way East beat Lockport Township 47-14 to move to 6-0 on the season ahead of its top-10 clash with No. 9 Naperville Central. The Griffons are 32-point favorites, but it should still be one of their toughest games of the season. Wins against Maine South and No. 22 Naperville North highlight Lincoln-Way East’s resume this year.
3. Mount Carmel
Chicago Mount Carmel bounced back from a 16-13 loss to No. 15 Brother Rice by beating No. 19 Joliet Catholic 35-21 over the weekend. It was the Caravan’s third ranked win of the season, joining win against No. 13 St. Rita and No. 11 Nazareth. Mount Carmel will close out the season with two tough games against No. 20 Fenwick and No. 4 Loyola Academy.
4. Loyola Academy
Loyola handled Providence Catholic with ease on Saturday, winning 42-6. The Ramblers have lost to No. 1 East St. Louis and unranked St. Francis this year, but have also picked up a signature win over No. 15 Brother Rice. Up next is Carmel Catholic before a season-ending showdown with No. 3 Chicago Mount Carmel.
5. Lyons (+4)
Lyons remained undefeated on the season after beating previously top-10 Downers Grove North 21-20 in a thriller. A win in what was the Illinois game of the week bumped the Lions up four spots in the state rankings. Lyons will finish the year with games against No. 14 York Comm this week and Proviso East on Oct. 25.
6. Cary-Grove
Cary-Grove is still undefeated after scraping by Huntley 44-43 on the road last Friday as 21-point favorites. The Trojans will look to keep rolling at Crystal Lake South this Friday. Cary-Grove’s defensive rating took a bit of a hit after its shootout with Huntley, but the Trojans offense remains a top-10 unit in the state.
7. Batavia
Batavia bounced back from its 30-7 upset loss to Geneva by smashing St. Charles East 56-7. The Bulldogs are 6-1 heading into their final two games against Wheaton Warrenville South and Glenbard Noth. They are multiple score favorites in each game.

8. Marist (+3)
Marist jumped up into the top 10 after beating St. Ignatius 37-19 last Friday in an impressive performance. The RedHawks are 6-1 — their only loss coming by one point to No. 19 Joliet Catholic. Otherwise, they have beaten the likes of No. 15 Brother Rice, Montini Catholic and Providence Catholic. Marist will host Marmion Academy this weekend before senior day festivities against Notre Dame College Prep.
9. Naperville Central (+3)
Naperville Central is still perfect in 2024 with a 56-7 blowout victory against Meatea Valley on Friday. The Redhawks will host Carl Sandburg this weekend before ending the year on the road at No. 2 Lincoln-Way East. Central struggles on offense — just No. 44 in Illinois — but has a top-10 defense in the state.
10. Geneva Community (-2)
Geneva is 7-0 after beating Wheaton North 28-24 in a Friday night nailbiter. The Vikings’ resume is highlighted by last week’s stunning runaway upset over No. 7 Batavia — winning 30-7. Up next is St. Charles East before the Vikings host No. 16 St. Charles North on Oct. 25.
