Wide receiver Blaise LaVista will play for a new school in the 2025 Illinois high school football season. The senior wideout announced that he will transfer from Libertyville to Lincoln-Way East for his final high school football season.

LaVista posted on X/Twitter, “I want to thank everyone at Libertyville for the past 11 years of football, and Coach Shack for being a prominent figure in my life. Libertyville will always be home.”

The Chicago Tribune’s Steve Millar wrote that LaVista finished with 60 catches for 1,447 yards and 24 TDs last season. Those numbers were enough to earn him the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association all-state honorable mention honors.

During his sophomore year (2023), LaVista had 47 receptions for 1,091 yards and 15 touchdowns. LaVista achieved these numbers while playing with quarterback Quinn Schambow, the 2024 Lake County News-Sun’s Football Player of the Year. However, Schambow has exhausted his high school football eligibility and will play baseball for Oklahoma State.

Meanwhile, Blaise LaVista will move from playing with Schambow to Jonas Williams, who committed to the Oregon Ducks. Fostering chemistry won’t be a problem because, as LaVista shared with Millar, he has known Williams since sixth grade, as they have played basketball and 7-on-7 football.

Williams helped Lincoln-Way East become the fourth-best team in Illinois high school football based on the On3 Composite Team Rankings. The Griffins finished the season with an 11-1 record and competed in the Class 8A state championship semifinals.

After high school, LaVista has some options for college. He received offers from Toledo, Marshall, and Akron. He also had an unofficial visit to Nebraska last November.
