Indiana High School Basketball Rankings: On3 Composite Top 25 Teams - Dec. 6
Indiana high school basketball is profoundly appreciated because of the countless talents it has produced for college and professional basketball. The competition has been romanticized in movies, while scouts flock to the games and watch the best players.
Therefore, it isn’t surprising that six of their top ten teams are within the nationwide top 100 as the 2024-25 basketball season starts. Here’s how the rankings unfolded after the initial round of games based on the Indiana On3 Composite Rankings.
The On3 Composite High School Basketball Team Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies. It includes Massey, Max Preps, Cal Preps, ESPN, and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.
1. La Lumiere School
While the Lakers suffered their first loss this season, it was against IMG Academy, one of the nation’s top teams. Still, that setback doesn’t diminish their status as Indiana high school basketball’s top team. Their talent-laden roster featuring college-bound players should help the nation’s 20th-best team bounce back.
2. Fishers
The 35th-best team in the United States is off to a nice start, defeating Ben Davis (71-36) and Arsenal Technical (91-63). Indiana’s top team based on the On3 Massey Ratings will face Noblesville, Mt. Vernon, and Hamilton Southeastern in their next three games.
3. Greenfield-Central
The Cougars defeated Beech Grove, 62-38, to open their season. Braylon Mullins dominated the Hornets with 35 points, six rebounds, four assists, four assists, and a block. Michael Johnson added 14 points and five rebounds. The 36th-best team in the country will proceed with their next match against Ben Davis.
4. Cathedral
The Fighting Irish split their first two games, dominating Warren Central by 35 points and losing by two to Jeffersonville. Four players scored in double digits despite the loss, with Brady Koehler leading the way with 19 points. The nation’s 44th-best team will try to bounce back against Norcross and Woodward Academy in their next two games.
5. Lawrence North
The Wildcats lost a tune-up game against Crispus Attucks, 63-54. Brennan Miller had 15 points, seven rebounds, and three steals despite that defeat. Kai McGrew added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Azavier Robinson contributed ten points and two blocks. The nation’s 52nd-best team will start their 2024 Indiana high school basketball season on Dec. 7 against West Side.
6. Jeffersonville
The Red Devils started their season with a closely fought victory over Cathedral. Michael Cooper led the way with 29 points, four rebounds, and five steals. P.J. Douglas had 18 points and six rebounds, while Gilly Polk had 10 points and six rebounds. The 87th-best team in the nation will face North, Pike, and Seymore in their next three games.

7. Ben Davis
After losing by 35 points to Fishers, Ben Davis bounced back by defeating Zionsville, 56-45. Tavion Williams had 17 points and seven rebounds against the Eagles, while Jashawn Ladd had 16 points. After this victory, Ben Davis will proceed with games against Greenfield-Central, Franklin Central, and Warren Central.
8. Noblesville
The Millers won their first two games, dominating Hamilton Heights (76-38) and Franklin (59-41). In their succeeding games, Noblesville will try to maintain its winning streak against Fishers, Carmel, and Jeffersonville.
9. Carmel
The Greyhounds erased their Nov. 2023 loss to Zionsville Eagles by defeating the same team to start the 2024 Indiana high school basketball season. Carmel will proceed from this victory by facing Lawrence Central, Plainfield, and Noblesville in their next three games.
10. Westfield
The Shamrocks are off to a 2-0 start after scoring massive wins against Frankfort (87-17) and Pendleton Heights (55-37). Against the Arabians, Durante Morton finished with 16 points, three rebounds, and four assists. Will Harvey added 15 points and two steals. In their next three games, Westfield will face Zionsville, Guerin Catholic, and Noblesville.
