The Indiana high school basketball season continues to move forward as we roll along into the new year, and some of the Hoosier State’s best programs rank highly on the national scene.

Fishers is the new No. 1 squad in Indiana this week, according to the Indiana On3 Composite Rankings, as previously top-ranked Greenfield-Central falls to No. 4.

The On3 Composite High School Basketball Team Rankings is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies. It includes Massey, MaxPreps, ESPN and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.

Here are the top 25 boys high school basketball teams in the updated Indiana On3 Composite Rankings.

1. Fishers

Still undefeated on the season, Fishers jumped up to the No. 1 spot in the state of Indiana with a 12-0 record. The Tigers aim to repeat as state champions and will next get back on the court on Jan. 17 on the road against Brownsburg.

2. Lawrence North

Lawrence North is 8-2 this season after dropping a home game against No. 14 Warren Central on Jan. 10 by a 64-60 score. In the new year, the Wildcats have beaten Marion and No. 6 Jeffersonville. Up next this evening is Indianapolis Lutheran.

3. Cathedral

Cathedral lost two of its first three games of the 2024-25 season before rattling off eight consecutive wins. The last two wins were tight for the Fighting Irish — a 68-65 victory over St. Mary’s Prep (Mich.) and a 51-48 win over No. 10 Carmel. But, the Irish could not keep the winning streak going — losing 89-88 in overtime to Great Crossing (Ky.).

4. Greenfield-Central

The previous No. 1 team in the Hoosier State, Greenfield-Central beat No. 16 Mt. Vernon over the weekend 60-55 to improve to 9-2 on the season. The Cougars next play on Jan. 17 at New Castle. The Cougars’ most notable win came against No. 20 New Palestine on Dec. 13. Their two losses are to No. 2 Lawrence North and No. 1 Fishers.

5. La Lumiere School

The home to two top-20 prospects in the 2025 recruiting class — Jalen Haralson and Darius Adams — La Lumiere has played a grueling national schedule. It has losses to IMG Academy (Fla.) — twice, Link Academy (Mo.), Owasso (Okla.) and Gonzaga (D.C.). The Lakers are 11-7 after dropping games to Bella Vista College Prep (Ariz.) and Brewster Academy (N.H.). La Lumiere will get another crack at a win on Jan. 18 against Wasatch Academy (Utah).

6. Jeffersonville

Jeffersonville has struggled a bit against a difficult schedule, currently sitting at 6-5 on the season. It lost 70-64 to No. 2 Lawrence North last time out, but the Red Devils have still won two of the last three.

7. Westfield

Westfield is 8-1 with its lone loss coming by three points on the road at Zionsville. Since then, the Shamrocks have won seven straight, most recently with a 52-43 win over No. 10 Carmel. On deck is a road tilt with No. 25 Hamilton Southeastern on Jan. 17.

8. Crown Point

A perfect 9-0 on the year, Crown Point will next play Merrillville on Jan. 17. The Bulldogs have not played a one-possession game in their last six appearances, last doing so on Dec. 14 against Fort Wayne Wayne.

9. Ben Davis

Ben Davis made it to the state title last season before falling to Fishers. Now, the Giants are working to get over that hump. They are 9-2 with eight straight wins since Dec. 13. On deck is Perry Meridian on Tuesday evening.

10. Carmel

Carmel is 6-4 this season and currently riding a three-game losing streak to Evansville Reitz, No. 3 Cathedral and No. 7 Westfield. The Greyhounds will hope to get back on track Jan. 17 against Marion.
