Jeremiah Smith was instrumental in Ohio State’s journey to the CFP National Championship Game in his rookie year. The wide receiver from Florida collected 71 receptions for 1,227 yards and 14 touchdowns in 15 games. Those numbers led to him becoming a First-Team All-American and a First-Team All-Big Ten member.

However, those who have followed his career since high school won’t be surprised at how he helped the Buckeyes succeed. It’s like he was a man playing against boys, as shown on this YouTube highlight reel uploaded in January 2024.

Smith found ways to catch the ball, regardless of the coverage thrown against him. Whether the defensive back jams him at the line of scrimmage or gives him some leeway, he will get the ball for big gains or touchdowns.

Jeremiah Smith played high school football for the Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School Lions and dominated from the get-go. He had 31 catches for 667 yards and seven touchdowns in his sophomore year. However, he torched Tampa Berkley in the Class 3A state championship game, finishing with 172 receiving yards and a touchdown.

In his junior year, Smith tallied 58 catches for 1,073 yards and 20 touchdowns. He helped the Lions win a state championship against Clearwater Central Catholic, finishing with 113 yards and two touchdowns.

Smith finished his final high school football season with 88 catches for 1,376 yards and 19 touchdowns. His high school achievements led to an invitation to the 2023 All-American Bowl, in which he became the game’s MVP.

Likewise, he became a five-star prospect by earning a 99.61 On3 Industry Rating. Back then, he was the top prospect among wide receivers and third among his graduating class. However, while he played three high school football years, he committed to Ohio State in December 2022.

In addition to becoming an All-American for Ohio State, Smith is also the Big Ten Conference Receiver of the Year and Freshman of the Year. He was also the Rose Bowl MVP after dusting top-seeded Oregon for seven catches for 187 yards and two touchdowns.

As established Jeremiah Smith is in college football, Jeremiah Smith will become a legend if he is instrumental in Ohio State’s triumph over Notre Dame for the National Championship.
