Five-Star Plus+ PF Koa Peat nearly notches triple-double in win for Perry (Ariz.) at Hoophall West
Despite being the nation’s No. 6 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, Perry (Ariz.) Five-Star Plus+ power forward Koa Peat continues to bolster his stock as a senior.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pounder was terrific for the Pumas on Saturday, dropping 25 points on 11-16 shooting while also adding 16 rebounds and seven assists in a 72-51 win over Duncanville (Texas) at Hoophall West.
An imposing figure against most high school defenders, Peat was able to bully the Duncanville defense with ease, getting to the rack for easy buckets while also facilitating and cleaning the glass. The consensus five-star has caused problems for every front court he’s come across so far.
After losing its first game of the tournament to nationally-ranked Harvard-Westlake on Thursday, Perry bounced back with a 77-56 win over Phoenix Sunnyslope, the No. 2 team in the state of Arizona. Peat was spectacular in that matchup as well, notching 25 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and three blocks.
The Pumas will now head home with a winning weekend, continuing what’s been an electric start to the 2024-25 season. Now 13-1 this season, Perry checks in as the No. 4 team in the nation and top-ranked team in Arizona, according to the the On3 Composite High School Top 25 rankings.

Peat remains one of the nation’s top uncommitted prospects
Texas, Baylor, Houston, Arizona, and Arizona State are the programs at the top for Peat, one of the three highest-ranked uncommitted prospects in the 2025 cycle.
The son of former NFL star Todd Peat has continued to excel as a senior and continues to weigh his options at the next level. The in-state Wildcats are now trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
On3’s Jamie Shaw writes this of Peat as a prospect:
“Koa Peat has a naturally strong frame, with long arms and broad shoulders. On the ball, Peat plays with a confidence in both the half and full court. He is a good rebounder and able to push the break in transition. With his lengthy frame, there is upside on defense, especially guarding off the ball. This summer, Peat showed a tendency to settle for jump shots. When getting downhill, he lacks counters off the bounce, and his hips look stiff, attacking mostly in straight lines. The form on the jump shot, the release specifically, looks clean and consistent, leading to the thought he could grow into being a shooting threat. Peat is young, with a 2007 birthday. His father and brother both play(ed) on the line in the NFL.”
