Lancaster, North Crowley playing in Jerry Jones Classic for crystal Whataburger helmet trophy
It’s a special weekend in the Lone Star State, with Texas high school football returning. There are some incredible matchups around the state, with On3’s top being #9 Westlake vs. #14 Prosper, taking place on Thursday night.
Flash forward a couple of days to Saturday, when Lancaster and North Crowley will battle in the Jerry Jones Classic. The game will take place at The Star in Frisco and even be broadcasted to a national audience. In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you can watch on TXA21. Elsewhere, the NFL Network will show the game.
Getting a win will earn you more than a 1-0 record to start the season. A crystal Whataburger helmet trophy is on the line, potentially the most Texas thing of all time. Just an excellent thing to hand out after a high school football game dubbed the Jerry Jones Classic.

Moving over to the North Crowley end, a few offensive linemen stand out. Henry Fenuku is a Missouri commit and On3 is the one of two services to rate him as a four-star, being the No. 250 overall player in the 2025 On300. Move forward one class where offensive tackle John Turntine is a four-star but No. 11 overall player in the 2026 class. Turntine is currently uncommitted but Texas leads the On3 RPM at 97%.
Speaking of the Longhorns, they will have a defensive commitment playing for North Crowley. Three-star linebacker Jonathan Cunnigham will begin his senior season, hoping to win the Jerry Jones Classic.
There is no better restaurant to represent Texas than Whataburger, being a staple no matter what part of the state you are in. Having a crystal helmet trophy with the logo on the side — no bigger honor will be handed out this season. Big stakes for both Lancaster and North Crowley, battling it out at The Star.
