2026 4-star QB Landon Duckworth throws for five TDs, leads Jackson to Alabama 4A State Title
Plenty of the AHSAA state championship games delivered drama over the weekend. The 4A clash between Jackson and Cherokee County did not.
Jackson rolled to a state title on Friday afternoon, stomping Cherokee County for a 69-6 victory. Leading the way was junior quarterback Landon Duckworth, who delivered a record-setting performance for the Aggies.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder completed 14 of 17 passes for a whopping 325 yards and five touchdowns. Duckworth set the record for passing yards in a 4A title game — and he didn’t even need to throw 20 passes.
Duckworth’s junior campaign finished with 3,109 passing yards, 34 touchdowns and nine interceptions through the air. He also ran for 631 yards and 12 TDs in 14 games. He’s now accumulated over 6,400 total yards and 80 TDs across 30 games in three seasons for Jackson.
